Description

The second day of Osaka in 1971, which is the eternity of Japan’s ZEP, also known as 929 sound source. I remember that we released the OG LP version based on the most popular sound board recording at our store, and the “UNPROCESSED” version that became the basis for various items, and each time it was sold out due to popular demand. This is something new. 929 is still strong… There is something unique about 929, an explosive performance that has been recognized as a masterpiece not only by Japanese fans but also by enthusiasts around the world. There is no need to refer to these releases from our store, and various items regarding sound board recording have continued to be produced to this day. After all, the presence of sound board recording is also strong. In that case, it would be natural that the audience recording on the same day would be neglected. Still, when it comes to 929, audience recording is also accepted by enthusiasts. Because it is a live performance that you are familiar with with sound board recording, you can’t experience the realism of the venue on the day with audience recording…It is unique to 929 that it creates this spirit of exploration. H-BOMB’s “929” was a revolutionary release that responded to the inquisitive spirit of such enthusiasts. If you are a long-time fan, you may remember that when it was first released, it appeared with a catchphrase of “Feel the realism of a live performance that you are familiar with on a soundboard.” However, the pitch deviation became a negative point for such a groundbreaking sound source and release, and complete recordings with audience recordings such as “NINE TWO NINE” that made full use of different sound sources, and “SMOKE GETS IN YOUR EYES” in recent years. It was overlooked due to the appearance of the item I was aiming for. However, the great appeal of the “929” sound source is that you can enjoy the clearness and rich sense of presence that only stereo recording can provide with the 929 audience recording. Moreover, this time, by obtaining a lower generation sound source, the rich sense of realism and clearness are further improved. This unique sound image has a unique taste that is similar to the previous day’s sound source and Floyd’s 1971 Osaka. If 929 did not have a sound board, there is no doubt that this sound source would have been the best. There is some hiss noise here and there, but it gives it a natural feel, and above all, the pitch is accurate this time, so you can enjoy the clearness and realism even more. This release was also provided by the same person who provided the Budokan sound source, but to my surprise, he also provided another hidden 929 sound source! This is a completely first audience recording. The sound quality itself is lower than this sound source or other sound sources used for past items. Furthermore, there are some shortcomings such as a cut from “Immigrant Song” and “Friends”, the highlight of the day, not included. This may be the reason why these negative points were hidden until now. Fortunately, however, the clarity improved as the performance progressed. This is a sound source that can be fully enjoyed as an alternative recording of the 929 that Japanese ZEP fans love so much. Enjoy to your heart’s content the main sound source with its unique clearness, and the unknown 929 new audience recording that attracts the attention of enthusiasts, each with their own charms and another side of the 929!
