Description

The 8th performance of the 1977 tour, the first day of Cincinnati 2 Days on April 19th, is recorded in a master quality version that is said to be taper direct. It was obtained in 2010 through an original route rather than an internet download, and the quality of freshness and pitch is excellent. This is the familiar version with the intro of Taper and Friends at the beginning. It can be said that this performance was not blessed with a release because the sound quality was average, the recording up to Kashmir was recorded, and the second half of the show was not recorded. This version is particularly fresh and has a wonderful unprocessed sound (in contrast to the previously released Elemaji edition). The Song Remains The Same is also great, and it’s unusual for Plant to scream during the strong drum intro of The Rover Intro, and the show starts off on a good note, but Jimmy misunderstands the composition during the guitar solo part of Sick Again, and it gets messy. It can be said that it is contrasting and interesting to show off a performance. In Plant’s first MC, after apologizing for being late, he said to the overly enthusiastic (noisy) audience, “The audience’s reaction is too intense, making it very difficult to perform. Please quiet down a bit.” “Try and just keep it cool, stand still okay?” and other MCs. In My Time Of Dying was not played on this day. There is a cut at the end of Ten Years Gone (7:35). Before Black Country Woman, Plant performs an improvised song (unfortunately, the tape has deteriorated in this part). Regarding this deterioration point, the first half (all of Disc 1 and Ten Years Gone), which corresponds to the A side of the tape, is in a high quality condition with no problems, but the B side of the single side after the acoustic part , partial tape deterioration is confirmed in several places. (2:20-2:35 of Battle Of Evermore, the beginning of Black Country Woman, the 1-minute mark, etc.) However, most of them are short-lived and recover quickly, so it is not a big problem for normal viewing. . Rather, the superb sound, texture, and condition of the first hour is a high-quality recording that deserves attention and re-evaluation. It is unfortunate that the second half of the show (Moby Dick, Achilles Last Stand, Stairway to Heaven, Black Dog) has not been collected, but since there are no other recordings of this performance on the market, collectors can collect it as part of the master direct. It can be said that it is well worth adding. The first half is really great! Please give it a listen. Live at Riverfront Coliseum, Cincinnati, OH. USA 19th April 1977 Disc 1(52:21) 1. Intro 2.
