Description
A mono audience recording of a live performance at Madison Square Garden on September 3rd from the North American tour of 1971. A single version of Source 2, which first appeared on the Internet several years ago and has not been released as a collector’s CD until now, is recorded. Although this source does not reach Source 1 in terms of the distance and stereo feeling of the performance, the growling bass line of John Paul Jones, which is characteristic of Source 1, can be fully felt here, and the point is that there is almost no noise from the surrounding audience, which was the biggest difficulty of Source 1. In addition, although the hiss noise and distortion heard from the left and right are slightly irritating to the ears, the unprocessed sound maintains sufficient clarity. (Minimal adjustments have been made to the pitch and volume.) There is a cut during the song in Dazed And Confused, and Moby Dick is cut out at about 8 and a half minutes and the rest is not recorded after that, but other than that, there are few extra cuts during and between songs and you can listen to it through, so this source will be a very interesting sound source for enthusiasts in the sense of supplementing the cuts during the song of Source 1.
