Description

Greensboro in 1975 is known to enthusiasts for the LP “KASHMIR WIZARD’S” and the CD “A QUICK GETAWAY.” It was a time when both Jimmy’s fingers and Robert’s voice had not fully recovered yet, and yet it was also a good choice for enthusiasts because it captured the stage at the time when “How Many More Times” was being played with reasonably good sound quality. It was familiar. As mentioned at the beginning, this is the first half of the 1975 American tour, which had several items released in the past, but this time it includes the first generation version that recently appeared on the internet. In other words, it is positioned as a low-generation version, but the phenomena such as “The Rain Song” fading out at the very end are still the same as “A QUICK GETAWAY”, and the sound quality has also improved dramatically. It’s not like I was seen. For enthusiasts, it was a day with a strong impression that “it was a precious time, but the sound quality was of that level”, and I wonder if that impression will be reversed this time as well. Therefore, it is a monaural audience recording with a slightly distant sound image, but it still clearly conveys that both front members are in poor condition. First of all, Robert is in tatters, and when it comes to parts where he raises his voice, he’s almost completely destroyed. Under such circumstances, it would be a cruel story to have picked up “How Many More Times”, which was an early repertoire. Due to Jimmy’s finger problems, it was difficult to do long improvisations like “Dazed And Confused”, and instead, the song had a bowing part that was a highlight to please the audience, so it was revived for the first time in a while. It was difficult for Robert at this stage, especially when it came to singing after a performance. Since Jimmy’s finger hasn’t completely healed, his phrases are rough in places. He still shows some flash in the new song “Trampled Underfoot”, and in the previous “How Many~” he plays fast enough to make you think he’s back in 1969, but it’s a symptom of this period that it doesn’t last. Similarly, up until the middle of “Stairway To Heaven,” I was playing as hard as usual, but perhaps because I was overdoing it with my unhealed fingers, the phrases became strange at odd times. Or the sound is off. From the overall impression of this play, even though it was the day when “How Many More Times” was featured, which was valuable in 1975, it can’t escape its position as a sound source “for core enthusiasts”. There were some circumstances. It was even praised on overseas sites as “quite possibly the worst Led Zeppelin concert ever!”. However, this time, all the troubles with the sound source that were occurring here and there, including the pitch deviation that was noticeable in the second half of the live performance, were all adjusted.
