Led Zeppelin/IL,USA 4.7 & 9.1977 Upgrade

This is a recording of the audience performance at Chicago Stadium on April 7th and 9th during the 1977 US tour in Chicago, the third most populous city in the United States after New York and Los Angeles! (This was the first consecutive performance in 1977 in Chicago) It had been released in the past, but there were only a few, and due to its overwhelming popularity overseas, it was hard to come by and became a rare item, so this is a nice release. There are fewer cuts than the previous one, so it has been upgraded. On April 7th, unfortunately, it seems that they were unable to record all the songs on this day. The band was in good shape, so it can’t be helped. You can understand this by listening to the opening song “The Song Remains the Same”! Bonzo’s crazy drums and Page’s amazing guitar are packed in there. The bad luck continues, “In My Time Of Dying” and “Trampled Underfoot” were dropped from the set that day because they had to vacate the venue early for a playoff game by the local hockey team, the Chicago Blackhawks. Showco, who was in charge of the sound system, worked hard to dismantle and set up the venue on Saturday. On April 9, Showco and his team re-installed the sound system that they had once dismantled and went to the live show, but Jimmy’s health got worse and the show ended midway. Is Chicago cursed? After “SICK AGAIN”, Jimmy started playing “Since I’ve Been Loving You”. The band members thought it was “Nobody’s Fault But Mine” so they couldn’t keep up and had to redo “Nobody’s Fault But Mine”. What happened? Jimmy? Yes, Jimmy had FOOD POISONING. After a long discussion backstage at “Ten Years Gone”, manager Richard Cole announced that the show was cancelled.
