Description
From the UK tour from the end of November 1972 to the beginning of 1973, a title that recorded the Birmingham performance on December 16th and the Brighton performance on the 20th in high-quality audience recording has appeared for the first time in a while. All songs from the Birmingham performance on the 16th are recorded on Discs 1-2, and about 52 minutes of the beginning and end of the live performance from the Brighton performance on the 20th are recorded on Disc 3. Each sound source that can be confirmed at the moment is packaged in its best condition. Since both performances first appeared as coupling recordings on the 3CD title “SWEET BRUMMY ROLL” around 2003, for some reason they have not been released at all despite their sufficiently good sound quality, and in recent years they have remained difficult to obtain. I’m sure there are many people who have been looking forward to the latest releases of these live shows. This title uses a good monaural audience recording of the same sound source as the previous release on both days. Among traders, there are masters of both performances with different distribution channels even though they are the same sound source, and some masters have been distributed in which the sounds of the audience’s crackling applause and the noise of microphones hitting objects have been intentionally deleted. , this time we have adopted the best sound source currently in circulation that has not undergone such processing. At the Birmingham performance on the 16th, there was a cut at the beginning of Rock And Roll, a sound cutout during Rain Song, three cuts during Dazed and Confused, a slight disturbance in the tape pitch during Stairway To Heaven, and an overall hiss noise. It is the same as the previous release (the hiss noise has been reduced from the middle of Whole Lotta Love, which is the same as the previous release), but noise reduction processing that would spoil the freshness and natural feeling of the master was avoided, and there was a significant deviation in the previous release. The left and right balance was reviewed and converted into a CD. Compared to the previous release, where the performance was quite left-centered, the sound, which seems to be a monaural recording and is heavily localized in the center, is worth listening to. Compared to the previous release, which has a slightly higher sound pressure overall, this title has been mastered with an emphasis on dynamic range, so the sound at first listen is modest, but it is a truly natural and ideal sound that you can listen to for a long time without getting tired. It has a great sound. It’s a shame that all the songs from the Brighton performance on the 20th are not recorded, but the sound is quite good, capturing the performance closer than the Birmingham performance. This was also made into a CD after making only the minimum necessary corrections, mainly revising the localization. Although it is a very minimal story, in this title there is something like microphone noise at around 1:14 of the Black Dog CD time, but in the previous release, that part (approximately 0.85 seconds) is recorded in a different part ( (about 10 seconds after the microphone noise), it seems to be able to be replaced without noise. However, this may not be a concern for normal viewing, but in the sense that it is recorded faithfully to the actual live performance, this title is better. We have decided to release a must-have and permanent title for fans that ideally packages the 1972 Birmingham and Brighton performances!
