Description

Since the beginning of this year, the Mike Millard sound source that JEMS has been releasing every Sunday has really continued to excite enthusiasts. However, there are a huge number of audience recordings left behind, and I get the impression that JEMS tends to stock up on sound sources that will make you wonder, “I didn’t know that Millard had recorded artists like this.” . I think the best examples are Suzy Quatro and Return to Forever. Therefore, I think everyone was wondering if the recording of each name of Led Zeppelin, which mania around the world would be looking forward to, would be postponed. However, when it was released on Sunday, three weeks ago, enthusiasts around the world were surprised. Yes, this is because the master tape sound source of the LA Forum performance on June 21, 1977, which is a monumental work in ZEP audience recording and is considered the masterpiece of Millard recording, was easily uploaded. You could say that I was exposed in a good way. Ever since the series of releases by JEMS began, we all thought it would come out someday, but we never thought it would show up so quickly! The upper feeling unique to recording from the master that was finally realized is truly vivid. In the case of Eddie’s Day, not only was it from the master, but the version that had been circulating until now was a copy via VHS, even if it was a low generation, and Dolby was also turned on. However, since this is turned off in the master, the freshness and clearness are completely different. When you listen to the sound from this master, even the latest “purple jacket” sounds fluffy and lackluster. The upper feel is so overwhelmingly wonderful that even the term “natural” sounds lukewarm. Until now, most of the mirrored sound sources that had been circulating among traders were low-generation copies via VHS, but they were traded by a certain taper from Millard in his later years. Around this time, Millard was said to have become quite eccentric, and instead of copying from the masters, he had his own First Generation records downloaded to VHS as a backup. This branched out and became the basis for SIRA’s Rose Eddie, Stamp Eddie, and many more items released under the name “LISTEN TO THIS, EDDIE.” Finally, the master tape of Eddie’s day that mania has been waiting for has been revealed. In the fall of 2020, you can finally hear Mike Millard’s masterpiece and the best performance of ZEP 1977 from the master! Here’s an explanation of this edition. This time, JEMS announced two types: “FLAT TRANSFER” and “MASTERED EDITION.” As the name suggests, “FLAT TRANSFER” is a recording of the sound recorded on the tape as it is (including the cut of “Ten Years Gone”), “MASTERED EDITION” is based on “FLAT TRANSFER”, and contains “Ten Years Gone”. Gone” was supplemented with a different source, the cheering whistles were digitally reduced or cut, and the bass and treble were finely adjusted to make it easier to listen to. (There are two types of whistling deletion in MASTERED: deletion and mitigation, and it gives the impression that it deletes parts that are not important and cannot be removed.) Anyway, the remastering of JEMS in this “MASTERED EDITION” is splendid, and this sound source Our existing work, which was created based on , is currently the best work in terms of not only the degree of completion but also the good sound quality. Thanks to all of you, our store version of “LISTEN TO THIS, EDDIE” sold out quickly, but right after its release, we received many requests to listen to the best version of JEMS’s other version, “FLAT TRANSFER.” Our existing work “LISTEN TO THIS, EDDIE”, which is based on “MASTERED EDITION”, was not just released as is, but was carefully researched, edited and supplemented in various parts, and released in the best condition. We also sorted out the problems with the original sound in “FLAT TRANSFER” and created the best version that can stand up to the previous works. Please refer to the set list for where to edit the cut point, but as mentioned above, the difference in sound quality is that the “MASTERED EDITION” is a fine adjustment, so there will not be a big difference in the impression, but 1. The hard texture associated with adjustment has faded. 2. The sense of separation between the bass drum and bass is amplified due to the bass adjustment. 3.The feeling of stereo separation is amplified because the hiss noise adjustment that accompanies the treble adjustment is not performed. will be raised. The whistling that was edited in “MASTERED EDITION” is recorded louder at the beginning of disc 1 and at weaker notes of the performance, which is of course different from “MASTERED EDITION” which focused on ease of listening, but it does not reflect the sound of the venue at the time. This title, which is recorded as is and supplemented with missing parts, is the same best work as the previous work two weeks ago. Two historical versions delivered by JEMS in October 2020. Please get the best version. It’s definitely worth it. The sound quality of this edition is definitely the best in the world. There is no “Eddie” that can beat this version in terms of listenability and content. The Forum, Inglewood, CA, USA 21st June 1977 ★Definitely the best sound quality and content ever. Disc 1 (70:10) 1. Intro ●The great thing is that it’s about 2 seconds longer than our previous releases and the sound is good. 2. The Song Remains The Same 3. Sick Again 4. Nobody’s Fault But Mine 5. Over The Hills And Far Away 6. Since I’ve Been Loving You ●8:34-8:40 Equalize and compensate for source 3. Compensation time is 6 seconds shorter than the previous release, and that part is the first sound source. 7. No Quarter Disc 2 (52:44) 1. MC 2. Ten Years Gone ● 5:12 – 5:25 Supplemented with source 3. The supplement is 10 seconds shorter than the previous release, and that part is the first sound source. ■FLAT TRANSFER is still missing, so I compensated for it from MASTERED, but it takes about 1 second longer to enter, so I used MILLARD TAPE. Result 5:13 – 5:25 made up 3. The Battle Of Evermore 4. Going To California 5. Black Country Woman 6. Bron-Y-Aur Stomp 7. White Summer / Black Mountain Side 8. Kashmir ■From 9:22 Until the end, FLAT TRANSFER is deleted for some reason, so it is supplemented from MASTERED (about 3 seconds). ●Instant fade-out at the end Disc 3 (74:45) 1. MC ■0:00 – 0:02 Compensation for previous episodes. The intro is longer than the previous one. ●2 seconds around 1:21 was missing, so it was compensated. 2. Over The Top 3. Heartbreaker 4. Guitar Solo 5. Achilles Last Stand ●9:23 – 9:27 was missing so I added it. The strange noise at 9:27 is from the beginning. 6. Stairway To Heaven ●12:35 – 12:40 Source 3 equalize and compensate. The supplement is 5 seconds shorter than the previous release, and that part is the first sound source. 7. Whole Lotta Love 8. Rock And Roll ●Compensation from 4:26 to the end. The outro was about 2 seconds short, so it was compensated for right before that without any discomfort.
