Description

“LISTEN TO THIS EDDIE REMASTER “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST”” is a remaster of Eddie, an evergreen ZEP live sound source, in another dimension. The Mike Millard sound source, which is known for its natural orientation, was boldly equalized, and the refined finish unique to 2016 was wonderful, but for some reason, the pitch was raised and recorded, which was a major flaw that made it unfortunate for enthusiasts to pass it off. Our version has been promoted to a gorgeous item that is too gorgeous to be a gift, and has been very well received. “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST” (hereinafter referred to as BB) has finally been promoted to this release from its overly refined finish. What’s great about the BB version is the modern and sharp finish that seems to overturn the image of the Millard sound source up to that point. After all, it was named “Complete Remixed Upgrade”. However, it is on a completely different level from the unrefined finish that emphasizes only the high tones that are common in fan remixes and remasters. Speaking of mirrored sound sources, one of the attractions is the natural extension of the high tones that the artist himself intended even though he strengthened the hiss noise. That’s why the hiss noise stands out, giving it a vintage, cassette-like texture in a good sense. Now that cassette tapes have been reinstated following records, it may be said that this sound quality is even more popular. However, the BB version starts with a unique equalization sense, starting with suppressing the hiss noise. Especially in the first half of the show, the hiss noise peculiar to mirrored sound sources is subdued, and instead the sound image that was originally on is pushed to the front, further enhancing the state where the quality was originally outstanding. And yet the overall equalization direction is delicate. The good balance between the high and low tones is enough to impress even ZEP experts who have been listening to many Eddie. What a high level of perfection. That’s why it was all the more regrettable that the pitch rose, which was somehow unintentional, was recorded, but for this release, the original pitch was restored with precise adjustments. As you can see from this pitch problem, the BB version was called “Complete Remixed Upgrade”, but there were some rough spots. In particular, from the 27-minute mark of “No Quarter”, periodic noise that is assumed to have been mixed in during uploading was removed. In addition, the shortcoming of the interval between songs after the performance was shorter than the original sound source was also adjusted. Furthermore, the cut of “Ten Years Gone” caused by the tape change, which is a chronic problem of the edited sound source, was compensated for with a familiar different sound source. This is what is worthy of being called “Complete Remixed Upgrade”. Until now, the edits released by our shop have only been items that placed emphasis on the naturalness and freshness of the tape, but in a good way, this item is on a different level from them, and yet it has a wonderful equalization. The BB version, which originally had an overwhelmingly refined finish even with reduced noise, has finally been finished as a “highly refined edit” by adding our own touches to the heights that could not be reached due to negative points such as pitch and neglected play of missing parts. For those who are strictly natural-oriented or mirrored sound source freaks, the version released by our shop in the past is probably better. Rather, we would like to recommend this version to all rock fans, not just maniacs, as an “edit that you can listen to with total peace of mind.” Be blown away by the refined finish that lets you experience the metallic and heavy live sound of 1977 ZEP to the fullest!
