Description

As you know, there are multiple sound sources for the May 31, 1973 LA performance familiar from “Bonzo’s Birthday Party”. There is a line recording that includes several cuts from the middle of Rock & Roll up to Stairway to Heaven, a high-quality TMOQ source known as “Recorder 1”, and “Recorder 2”, which appeared in the 1990s and also boasts excellent sound quality. Although these are incomplete recordings with many cuts, they have become standard among fans due to their excellent sound quality. However, there is another sound source for this day, “Recorder 3”, which has a modest impression but is the longest recording of the day’s live performance. The recording time is 2 hours and 30 minutes, which far exceeds the other sources. Therefore, only this sound source contains the last track of the show, “Communication Breakdown”. As for “Recorder 3”, it was mostly recognized and used as a supplementary source, and I remember that there were no titles created mainly from this source. While all the other sources are incomplete recordings of cuts and pastes, only “Recorder 3” covers almost the entire show with a single sound source for this performance. This edition mainly uses all of “Recorder 3”, which recorded this LA73 performance with the longest single source, and supplements the cuts during and between songs of No Quarter, Dazed and Confused, and Moby Dick with another source, and in addition, strict pitch adjustment is made to create a 159-minute version. If you listen to this, you will understand that this “Recorder 3”, which has been neglected until now, is a good recording board with a very good quality as an audience recording in 1973. If it was a sound source that was “unbearable to listen to”, I would not do such a project. Considering the importance of it as a sound source, it is a stable and good quality recording that you can think of as a 3-disc press CD as it is. If you are a collector, you can definitely say that the full-length version of such a high-quality sound source is a must-have. Moreover, this time, the “Bonzo’s Birthday Party Recorder 3 Definitive Edition” has been carefully corrected and adjusted, including during and between songs. This is a must-listen 3-disc set that will surely make you happy, not just because you made it, but because “this sound source (Recorder 3) was so good?” At first, you may think it’s “plain”, but as you listen to it, listeners with a good ear will be amazed at its stability, freshness, and ease of listening. Sound sources like an edit that you can enjoy are good (catharsis!), but sound sources like this that you can listen to carefully are also good. Of course, this is a project title for enthusiasts, but this is the real pleasure of bootlegs. The Forum, Inglewood, CA. USA 31st May 1973 A3 is mainly used.
