Description

If you were overwhelmed by the sound pressure of Page’s guitar heard in the mirrored sound source on the first day of 75LA, please also listen to his recording of the second day in LA. This is also incredible quality. What’s more, this time it’s the charm of balance with the plant’s voice on. This is also not an “on sound image”, but a completely sound board state. How on earth could such an exceptional recording be achieved in 1975? I can only express my admiration. The key to guessing it is that the recording of this day clearly captures even the poor sound output of Page’s guitar. In other words, Millard probably dared to record quite close to the speakers at the LA Forum venue on this day. It would be no surprise if he chose to position the speakers closer to him so that he could accurately capture the live sound of the members rather than being able to see them on stage. If you didn’t do that, there would be no way you could record with such an amazing sound image. On the first day, the recording condition was amazing, with the strong presence of Page’s guitar, but on the second day, not only Plant’s vocals but also Johnsy’s bass were accurately captured, and the sound image was closer. It is now in a perfect recording condition, with good balance. There is no doubt that among Millard’s ZEP live sound sources, the one that boasts the most active sound image is this 75 year LA three days. Certainly, in terms of clarity and freshness, the Long Beach that we recently released (thankfully, it sold out in no time) is better. However, an amazing sound image that could not be achieved even there. That was the mirrored sound source of the LA performance in 1975. Anyway, on this day, the sound of Page’s guitar coming out of the speakers from the beginning of the live was unstable. That gives a bad impression at the beginning. However, undeterred by this, the band centered on him continues to improve, and “The Song Remains The Same” is extremely aggressive, yet a wonderful performance that does not disturb any thread is being shown off. I can only guess whether this problem with Page’s guitar is the same on stage, or whether it is only a problem with the sound output from the venue. However, when it comes to “Dazed And Confused”, you can hear a play that seems to have been blown away in response to the trouble. What’s more, what Plant sang in the “San Francisco” section was a super rare pattern called “Spanish Harlem” instead. This was the only time Plant ever hummed the classic by Ben E. King, who passed away earlier this year. Anyway, on this day, the recording balance was exquisite, and the instability of the sound output that did not disappear even as the live performance progressed was documented, but thanks to Page, he was able to continue the live performance without getting spoiled by it. I commend him. would be worth it. The proof of this is that even if the phrases he plays are messed up, he always returns to playing. In fact, it was Plant, not him, who made the biggest mistake of the day. In the encore song “Black Dog,” Plant suddenly forgets the lyrics to this song, which he is supposed to be singing every night, and he cheats by singing it mumbled. In response, you can clearly see the other three members getting upset and thinking, “What, are we going to make a mistake there?” and the performance is about to stop, but it was Page who saved them from this desperate situation. It was such a shocking scene, and the performance in LA in 1975 was so interesting with its ups and downs! Moreover, if JEMS releases Millard’s miraculous recording in a low generation version, there is no reason not to release it. March 25th boasts the strongest sound quality of the three days!
