Description
Four types of audience recordings of the June 27, 1972 Long Beach performance, which is famous for being included in the official live album “HOW THE WEST WAS WON”, have been confirmed to date. Among them, “How The West Was, Too!”, which has appeared on the Internet in recent years, has exceptionally good stereo sound quality and excellent content. This source, which was made into a disc from Reel Master, is of a fairly high level as a 1972 sound source, and it completely surpasses the other three audience sources in terms of quality. However, unfortunately, the person who uploaded it to the internet uploaded the audience take of that day, which overlaps with “HOW THE WEST WAS WON”, with all the cuts from the original take, so it remains incomplete to this day. It is only available for the content. Still, the recorded content is well over 100 minutes, and the quality is very good, so it is definitely a must-listen for fans. The 28 minutes of Dazed And Confused, nearly 20 minutes of Moby Dick, and 29 minutes of Whole Lotta Love that can be heard with this sound source are each spectacular takes and literally overwhelm the listener. Although there are some parts where minute noises and cuts occur, it is no exaggeration to say that this take, which was recorded with a very high quality sound image, is a must-listen for all fans. Although it is incompletely recorded, it is enough to satisfy even beginners. There is no feeling of equalization at all, and the freshness of the sound is excellent. Compared to other takes recorded on the same day, it is characterized by less audience noise and solid sound localization, and if this full-length version appears in the future, I think it will be a big fuss. You can listen to this sound source even if it has already been released, but they are either patched edits using the main sound source and another sound source, or even though they are not patched together, the localization of the performance is corrected each time and a cross-fade is added to the corrected part. There is no such thing as a processed version of this master that has been made into a disc directly as it is, so although this board is a straight plan, it may be a surprising blind spot as a bootleg. Only the slightly low pitch has been carefully corrected. It takes patience to listen to last week’s “LONG BEACN ARENA 1972 2ND SOURCE” for 2 hours and 30 minutes, but fans of any level should be able to enjoy it to the fullest. Anyway, it’s a really great sound source. Please enjoy. Long Beach Arena, Long Beach, CA. USA 27th June 1972 Disc 1(52:20) 01. Black Dog 02. Over The Hills And Far Away 03. That’s The Way 04.
