Description

L.A. Express is a fusion group representative of the 70s, formed by Tom Scott through sessions with John Guerin, Max Bennett, Joe Sample, Victor Feldman, Larry Carlton, Robben Ford, David Ruel, Peter Mowne, and other outstanding talents on the West Coast as well as the East Coast. The members were fluid, and except for Guerin on drums and Bennett on bass, they changed over the years. The band and its members are known for backing George Harrison on his 1974 American tour and Joni Mitchell, and are all in high demand for recording sessions with various other artists, and their level of performance is extremely high. This rare lineup of L.A. Express, Feldman, Ruel, Mounes, Guerin and Bennett, was recorded live in the studio in Dallas, Texas in December 1976 to accompany the release of Shadow Play in 1976, which fans consider to be their true masterpiece. This recording was recorded on a superb stereo soundboard and is the first ever recording of one of the greatest live performances of 1970s fusion music!
