The original members of the masterpiece “The Next Step,” which determined the presence of Kurt Rosenwinkel, the best jazz guitarist recognized by Eric Clapton, have reunited in 2024 to perform the latest live show. “The Next Step,” released in 2000 by the strongest quartet of Mark Turner (sax), Ben Street (bass), and Jeff Ballard (drums), received a great response from jazz fans around the world as the most important work that heralded the beginning of a new era of jazz, and his name spread. In 2013, he was invited to the “Crossroads Guitar Festival 2013” organized by Eric Clapton, and it is still fresh in our memory that he performed with Allan Holdsworth at the request of Kurt Rosenwinkel. In addition, a live recording of a performance at the jazz club “Smalls” in New York in 1996 has been unearthed and is scheduled to be officially released in July of this year.
