Description

KRAFTWERK rose to the forefront of the scene in 1976 with their masterpieces “Autobahn” and “Radioactivity.” The classic sound board has evolved into a complete version. This work includes “Paris performance on February 28, 1976”. This is the soundboard recording. The biggest point of this work is the high-quality quality that connects directly to the brain and the complete recording of astonishment. Before introducing the contents, first let’s talk about the show’s position. Let’s look back at the schedule from the time when it was taking the world by storm. 1975, March 12-22: Europe #1 (3 performances), April 3-June 8: North America (45 performances), September 1-22: UK (16 performances)《10 February 26th – March 21st: Europe #2 (5 performances) ←★Here★ July 31st + August 1st: France (2 performances) September 8th Sunday – October 10: Europe #3 (9 performances) This is KRAFTWERK in 1975/1976. Perhaps because of their musical style, they are not a group that performs many live shows. However, in 1975/1976, when their popularity increased dramatically, demand was high and the largest tour of the 1970s was held. He is especially popular in France, and has visited France many times. The Paris performance of this work was the third concert of “Europe #2”. Such shows have long been known as radio broadcasts, and air check masters have been loved since the analog era. Even now, it is such a standard that discs pretending to be official are being distributed at general CD stores, but of course this work is completely different from such copies. It is a full live album that is incomparably longer than before. Anyway, the expansion is shocking. If you are familiar with the previous releases, you will understand, but the legendary LP “SOMEWHERE IN EUROPE” was about 21 minutes long, and the 2015 rebroadcast, which became a hot topic among enthusiasts, was about 38 minutes long. However, this work is over 90 minutes long, which is far more than twice that! Let’s take a look at the amazingness and the arrangement of the set. Ralf & Florian Tongebirge & Tanzmusik Autobahn/Kometenmelodie I & II/Autobahn (★)/Mitternacht/Showroom Dummies (★) Radioactivity/Airwaves/The Voice of Energy & Die Sonne, Der Mond, Die Sterne (★) *Note: “★” marks are takes that appear for the first time. …and it looks like this. There are plenty of must-hear songs that you have never heard before, including the approximately 30-minute representative song “Autobahn” and “Mitternacht” which includes the then unreleased “Showroom Dummies”. What’s even bigger is that there are no radio DJs like we used to have. It is probably the master before it was edited for broadcasting, and cheers are mixed between some songs, but other than that it is only live performance. More specifically, before “Radioactivity” and “Autobahn”, the sound check unique to line recording is also super realistic. Electro-pop is known for its artificiality, but you can enjoy uncut scenes that give you a strong sense of “liveness” and “on-site.” I was late to touch on such a great achievement, but the sound of this work is also amazing. I wrote earlier that it was a “pre-broadcast master,” but it is also clear in terms of sound. Naturally, there is no reception noise, and the seamless and glossy sound is truly a masterpiece. Moreover, since it is unprocessed, the synchronization with the performance is great. You can definitely feel the presence of fingertips moving beyond the electronic sounds in the spun performance, and the fluctuations are strangely realistic because they are live without reshoots. On top of that, the pleasure of having that “raw electronic sound” poured directly into your brain without any processing is overwhelming. It’s a super synchronized feeling that feels like a direct plug-in between the synths of the time and your brain. The real thrill of jumping through time and space is on a different level from a normal rock concert, and even the howling that occurs in several places reveals the spectacle of the era. This is what makes it so powerful, like a retro-future blockbuster sci-fi movie that doesn’t use CG. “Is there any point in listening to live electronic music on CD?”…I was going to introduce this proposition without touching on it, but it’s outrageous. On the contrary, it is a masterpiece of a live album that shows off its overwhelming significance and even fills you with the real thrill of time and space that cannot be experienced anywhere else. Because it’s mechanical, it has a 70’s retro feel, and because it’s synth pop, the presence of the hands and fingers manipulating the equipment is vivid. This is a super entertaining masterpiece that lasts about 90 minutes and allows you to fully immerse yourself in KRAFTWERK and its famous songs, which are completely different from the studio work. Although it is a masterpiece as a musical work, its real pleasure may even change the meaning of listening to live albums and soundboard recordings. A complete version of such a shock.
