Description
A classic professional shot representing Live in Japan in the no-makeup era. This work includes the “April 22, 1988: Nippon Budokan” performance. They have toured Japan 12 times, but they only came to Japan twice in 1988 and 1995 without makeup. This was also my first visit to Japan in 10 years. Let’s start with the current schedule.・April 16th: Nagoya City Public Hall ・April 18th: Osaka Castle Hall ・April 20th: Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium ・April 21st: Nippon Budokan “CRAZY BANG BUDOKAN” ・April 22nd: Nippon Budokan [Book] ]・April 24th: National Yoyogi Stadium There were 6 performances in total. This work is a representative video of “CRAZY NIGHTS JAPAN TOUR 1988”. I also feel nostalgic about the subtitle during the “Fits Like A Glove” broadcast by a certain public broadcaster that read, “This concert is being broadcast in B-mode stereo.” And the quality is just perfect. There were various Gene videos as it is a big standard, but this work has a great master freshness and no noise that seems to be noise. The glossy details and colors are almost like a laser disc. Of course, the sound mix, which is thoroughly official work, is also perfect. It is a superb product that truly brings back the time itself. This classic video drawn with such quality is packed with the charm of KISS without makeup. The set consists of nine songs, half golden 70’s hits and half 80’s, and it’s packed full of great songs that make you think, “This is it!” The composition is accented with songs unique to that time, such as “Bang Bang You,” “No No No,” and “Reason To Live.” And the appearance of them playing such a super luxurious hit parade is “1988”. The make-up was removed and the band returned with a glittering LA metal tone, but the scene gradually became more of a street style. They are sensitive to the changes of the times, and are adapting accordingly, pushing out a glamorous yet “wild and tough” image. Paul Stanley’s red tank top that shows off his physical beauty is great, but Gene Simmons looks especially good in it. He looks so cool wearing all black leather and carrying an ax base. Of course, the performance is also impregnable. Before “Fits Like A Glove”, Paul plays with the riff of LED ZEPPELIN’s “Heartbreaker”, and although it feels more relaxed than in the carefully calculated makeup era, it is still a professional performance that cannot be achieved by a normal band. Even in the 70’s repertoire, the tempo is up and sharp, and Bruce Kulick’s flashy guitar work is on top of it. This is the no-makeup era! The coolness explodes throughout the entire story. KISS without makeup was sharp and heavy metallic. This is a piece full of youthful and lively stages, freed from heavy costumes. The definitive video of the monument that exploded its charm in Japan. Their true faces shined because of this era. Live at Budokan, Tokyo, Japan 22nd April 1988 PRO-SHOT (90:01) 1. Love Gun 2. Cold Gin 3. Bang Bang You 4. Calling Dr. Love 5. Fits Like A Glove 6.
