Description

KISS returned to Japan with its original members in 1997, 20 years after their legendary first visit to Japan. A treasured original recording that allows you to experience the scene from the front row is now available. [Tokyo Dome performance by the one and only original 4 members] What is recorded in this work is “January 18, 1997: Tokyo Dome performance”. This is the best audience recording. Over their long history, they have visited Japan a total of 12 times, but the original four members were together only twice in the 1970s and in 1997. This work is a live album that conveys the highlight performances. First of all, let’s check the show’s position in the tour schedule where the archipelago is excited about the revival of Make-up KISS.・January 18th: Tokyo Dome ←★This work★ ・January 20th: Nagoya Rainbow Hall ・January 21st: Osaka Castle Hall ・January 22nd: Osaka Castle Hall ・January 24th: Fukuoka International Center ・January 25th: 6 performances at Hiroshima Sunplaza and above. The Tokyo performance of this work is the first day of the revival of KISS in Japan, and the first of four Tokyo Dome performances in history. Peter Criss withdrew from the next festival in Japan in 2001, and this day became the only “Tokyo Dome performance by the original four members” in history. [Is this the customer record? Is this the dome? Super sound from another dimension] This work recorded at such a show is a shocking direct sound. Tokyo Dome, and when it comes to recordings from the 90s, it’s natural that it’s blurry and bouncy. Until now, it was common sense that the game was how well you could feel the outline in the thick sound, but this work is completely different. Even if you listen carefully with headphones, you won’t feel any ringing, and if the core is vivid, there will be no clouding of detail, and the distance will be completely zero. Moreover, the loud cheers were far away. It’s not to the point where it doesn’t interfere with the performance. This is just an analogy, but imagine a studio live performance in an overcrowded dressing room in a dome. Four people performed in front of me in a small room, and I could hear the excitement of the venue leaking through the gap in the door… This work is such a balance. However, the content of that sound is definitely the actual Tokyo Dome. Paul repeated the Japanese MC chants of “Tokyo!”, “Minasan applause! Applause!”, and “You’re awesome!”, and the huge crowd in the distance was roaring along with them. The sound doesn’t really sound like a dome, but it’s definitely Tokyo Dome. “Did the members record it on stage?” “Maybe IEMs?” were swirling in my head. There is no point in listing only delusions, so I will also reveal the correct answer, and this work is definitely an audience recording. However, the recording artist and position are unusual. The recording was made by a legendary master who has produced many of Japan’s most famous albums since the 1970s. And my position is in the front row. When these two things overlap, it’s a miraculous sound where the “super” lines are lined up in a row (even if you know the correct answer, it’s still strange). The show, drawn with such a different dimension of sound, is truly a revival of the Golden Age. Speaking of live albums from the original reorganization era, the official version “ALIVE! THE MILLENNIUM CONCERT” comes to mind. Let’s organize the contents of the set while comparing them.・KISS: Deuce/Firehouse/Cold Gin (★)/100,000 Years/Black Diamond ・HOTTER THAN HELL: Let Me Go, Rock And Roll/Watchin’ You (★) ・DRESSED TO KILL: C’mon and Love Me (★ ) / Rock And Roll All Nite・DESTROYER: King Of the Night Time World (★) / Do You Love Me? / Shout It Out Loud / God Of Thunder / Detroit Rock City / Beth ・ROCK AND ROLL OVER: Calling Dr. Love (★)・LOVE GUN: Shock Me (★) / I Stole Your Love (★) / Love Gun・ACE FREHLEY: New York Groove (★) *Note: Listen to “★” mark on “ALIVE! THE MILLENNIUM CONCERT” No songs. …and it looks like this. Since the tour is different from “THE MILLENNIUM CONCERT”, the set is also significantly different, and you can enjoy plenty of famous songs that can’t be heard on that official version. Among the most valuable are “C’mon and Love Me” and “I Stole Your Love.” The pattern of “ALIVE/WORLDWIDE TOUR”, which was the first reorganization, is also preserved in “KISSOLOGY VOLUME THREE: 1992–2000”, but these two songs are from the repertoire that could not be heard there (although the performance itself was However, they were not the original four). Even more than that Greatest Hits performance is an overwhelmingly passionate performance. This day was not only my first visit to Japan, but also the first day of 1997 itself. The ensemble, which toured for half a year in 1996, has made a solid comeback, and is in perfect condition after being absent for half a month. Of course, it is not uncommon for other bands to perform poorly on the first day, but in the case of KISS, a true professional group, it is a different story. The show, which was thoroughly rehearsed and prepared, had no gaps in sight, and the tour resumed in the new year! Only the spirit of this song comes out from the speakers. Anyway, the sound is superb. The more you know about audience recording and the more you experience dome recording, the more incredible the sound of this work will be. I can’t believe how much more convincing it was to hear that they were actually IEMs… With such a different dimension of sound, you can fully experience the unique “Original 4-person Tokyo Dome”. A super masterpiece of a different dimension that stands out even when you look at the entire history of KISS performances in Japan.
