Kiss Psycho Circus Demos & Outtakes

The only reunion album of the original KISS, “PSYCHO CIRCUS”. The ultimate edition that covers all the surrounding sound sources is now available on 2 CDs. This work is engraved with various official and semi-official treasure tracks. These are rare tracks such as demos, outtakes, unreleased takes, and official singles/bonuses from the album production process. There are many famous sound sources that have already been released, but this work is a collection of the highest peak masters, and we also pursue the perfection that can be listened to as a whole as a musical work. It is a two-disc set of ultimate quality. The contents are diverse, so let’s introduce them individually in the order of recording. DISC 1: All songs on the album + α demo (14 tracks) The main focus of DISC 1 is a collection of demo takes of “PSYCHO CIRCUS”. In addition to all 10 songs from the album, it also includes demos of “In Your Face”, which was a bonus for the Japanese version, and “It’s My Life”, which first appeared in “THE BOX SET”. Demos come in a wide variety of versions, from memo recordings at the composition stage to rough mixes that are indistinguishable from the final version, but this work is closer to the latter. Although the differences are not so obvious that they are indistinguishable, the arrangements are highly polished and the sound quality is semi-official. Moreover, with all the songs on the album, this studio album can be enjoyed as “another PSYCHO CIRCUS”. Also, as you know, the only song on PSYCHO CIRCUS where the original four members performed together was “Into The Void,” and Ace’s guitar was only on three songs, “Into the Void,” “You Wanted the Best,” and “In Your Face.” Therefore, it is difficult to say for sure how much Peter and Ace were involved in this demo, but it is also nice that there are two takes each of “Into the Void” and “In Your Face” sung by Ace. Even the vivid stick count in the intro to “Into The Void” makes me excited to think that it is Peter’s legacy. DISC 1: Official rare takes from the PSYCHO CIRCUS era (2 tracks) DISC 1 is almost a “demo album”, but at the end, two official rare tracks are added as bonuses. The first one, “Raise Your Glasses (Collectors Version)”, is a demo version of a song included in the album. In the sense of being a “demo”, it is the same as the 14th take above, but this alone was included in the official CD single “Psycho Circus”. It is a different version from the main demo “Raise Your Glasses” above in terms of arrangement, and this version is closer to the final version. And what’s surprising is that the genuine official track “Raise Your Glasses (Collectors Version)” and the main demo above have almost the same sound quality, so there is no sense of incongruity even when listening to them one after the other. It’s also a take that proves how superb the leaked demo above is. The second track is a re-recorded version of the classic “Detroit Rock City (1998 Version)”. It is a phantom version that was produced for a movie soundtrack, but remained unreleased. DISC 2: PSYCHO CIRCUS Outtakes (6 tracks) DISC 2 is a collection of PSYCHO CIRCUS outtakes and official live takes. First of all, the main six outtakes. These are not as complete as the demos on DISC 1, but they are still well-made songs. The final arrangements have not yet been solidified, but they are still enjoyable as a collection of unreleased songs. In a sense, these are the six most enjoyable tracks on this album. DISC 2: Bonus tracks exclusive to the German version (6 tracks) Up to this point, the tracks are studio recordings, but the rest are official live tracks. However, even though they are live tracks, they are related to “PSYCHO CIRCUS”. First up are the six songs from the live performances of “December 12, 1998 in Terre Haute and December 13 in Indianapolis”, which were bonus tracks on the German version of “PSYCHO CIRCUS”. Unlike the studio performances, these are definitely performed by the original four, and the most delicious song is “Within”. This is a limited edition song from the “PSYCHO CIRCUS World Tour”, and is a repertoire that was not performed on “ALIVE: THE MILLENNIUM CONCERT OUTTAKES”. Although it is not the only one, it is a valuable official soundboard. DISC 2: ALIVE! THE MILLENNIUM CONCERT Outtakes (3 tracks) The last section is an outtake from the original KISS re-arranged live album “ALIVE: THE MILLENNIUM CONCERT”. Best The bonus tracks on the Buy limited edition are “2000 Man” and “God Of Thunder”, and the iTunes limited bonus “Detroit Rock City”. These were the only three songs that were outtakes, and were also included on the vinyl version. The above is a collection of treasures in 2 hours, 25 minutes, and 58 seconds, totaling 29 tracks. Demos that will become “another PSYCHO CIRCUS”, outtakes that expand the world of the album, official live performances where you can enjoy the live performances of the original four members, etc. … A two-disc set that permanently preserves the soundboard tracks related to “PSYCHO CIRCUS” in the highest quality.
