Description
What is recorded in this work is “March 19, 1975 North Hampton Performance”. This is an audience recording of the first day of “DRESSED TO KILL TOUR”. On this day, two performances were held a day as a warm-up for the tour, and this work is a live album of the 2nd show. The sound that recorded the kickoff of the tour is an indescribably tasteful vintage audience. However, just because it’s not the best, I’m not the type to look for a performance beyond the noise (at all), and it’s not an explosive or roaring sound (at all). Its beauty is its extremely thick core and sense of stability. Although it is true that the details are not very clear, the deep bass that shakes the venue is also well recorded, and it is extremely powerful. Moreover, even when the power explodes with full force, it never becomes a roar, and there is no distortion or distortion due to tape deterioration. It is a recording that has an easy-to-listen mellowness from beginning to end. The show drawn with that sound is an even more intense initial impulse that explodes… but it’s interesting because it’s not. I think it’s probably a trial run feeling because it’s the first day, but it stands out as being solid as if confirming the show’s performance. KISS at the time was working on an incredibly busy schedule, and this work was only one month after the end of the previous “HOTTER THAN HELL TOUR”. I think it could be more intense… This is completely my imagination, but perhaps the fuse had not yet been lit at that time. It is said that the opportunity to record “ALIVE!” in Detroit was the hit single “Rock And Roll All Nite”, but the single release date was “April 2, 1975”. Since the North Hampton performance of this work is in March, “Rock And Roll All Nite” has not even entered the set yet, and on the other hand, in the Boston performance in May, the beginning of a breakthrough was beginning to be seen. It is a reality that such subtle differences in momentum can be heard from the other side of the recording. That said, it’s a young KISS. This work does not end quietly either. The atmosphere changes around the 6th song “She”. From there, the excitement gradually built up and heated up towards the end of the show. In the second half, “C’mon And Love Me”, which will be the first performance on this day (I can’t say for certain because there is no record of the 1st show, but if it is different, it will be the second time) will also explode. KISS was in the early days of their “DRESSED TO KILL TOUR” when they were burning with ambition and looking for an opportunity to do so.
