Description
Madison Square Garden, KISS’s largest home venue, was also chosen as the site for their final performance. Here is a soundboard album that will pour into your brain the memorable full show that they first stood at that traditional venue. The day that is permanently preserved in this work is “February 18, 1977”. It is a soundboard recording recorded at one point of the “ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour”. There were four MSG performances in 1977 alone, but most of them were the “ALIVE II Tour” in December. There was only one performance in February on this day. In addition, the “ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour” spanned the New Year holidays in 1976 and 1977, and it is also historic that it was the legendary first visit to Japan. First of all, let’s take a bird’s-eye view of their progress and explore the position of this work. 1976: “ROCK AND ROLL OVER” released on November 11th; “NEW YORK REHEARSALS 1976” on November 11th; November 24th – December 30th: North America #1 (22 performances) ←※MEMPHIS 1976; 1977: January 1st – March 7th: North America #2 (38 performances) ←★HERE★; March 24th – April 4th: First visit to Japan (10 performances) ←※COMPLETE BUDOKAN 1977 and others. This is the overall picture of the “ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour”. For convenience, the above is divided into “North America #1” and “North America #2”, but in reality it is a continuous US tour. The first MSG performance was the 30th performance of “North America #2”, which was the final one. Some of you may have already guessed it, but this show is also famous for the professional shots left behind. In particular, our “MADISON SQUARE GARDEN FEBRUARY 1977 (Press DVD)” became very popular with the highest quality ever. This work is the sound drop. . . . It is not. It is a newly excavated sound board with a different source. It was excavated through our own related route, but the sound is completely different. It is clear that it is a different master because it is recorded from the BGM before the performance starts, but what is more vivid is the sound itself that runs through the whole story. It is slightly wilder than the pro shot sound, but it is dynamic. And above all, it is wide. The pro shot version has a clear outline, but all the instruments tend to be a little solid, but in this work, even if the performances spun by the four people overlap, they do not mix, and you can feel the ensemble structure firmly. We have also introduced sound board albums with different feel, even though they are the same concert as the pro shot, such as “LANDOVER 1975 SOUNDBOARD MASTER” and “JERSEY CITY 1976 SOUNDBOARD”. Among them, the difference is quite clear. Although the pro shot version was perfect as a sound accompanying the video, this work is definitely the one that can be enjoyed as a live album with only sound. Such a dynamic sound depicts the full show of the historic “first MSG”. In fact, it is shorter than the pro shot version, but this is the result of the long encore wait being cut. The performance songs themselves are recorded in full. There are also songs that were cut from the official “KISSOLOGY” version, so let’s organize them by comparing them. DESTROYER (5 songs) Detroit Rock City (★) / Do You Love Me (★) / God Of Thunder (★) / Shout It Out Loud / Beth (★) Others (10 songs) KISS: Firehouse / Cold Gin (★) / Nothin’ To Lose / Black Diamond ROCK AND ROLL OVER: Take Me / Ladies Room (★) / Makin’ Love (★) / I Want You (★) Others: Let Me Go, Rock And Roll / Rock And Roll All Nite *Note: The “★” mark indicates songs that were not seen in the official “KISSOLOGY” version. 51 years, 9 months and 2 weeks later, KISS closed the curtains as a live band at the same MSG. In the first place, the overseas record of the “ROCK & ROLL OVER Tour” itself (as you can see from the schedule above) is valuable, but the weight sealed in this work is even more. It is a soundboard album that allows you to fully experience the first step of the holy land that was “KISS’s home” in both name and reality. A wide and aggressive sound CD that is different from the pro shot sound. Soundboard recording of “February 18, 1977”, which was the “first Madison Square Garden”. Although it is the same show as the pro shot “MADISON SQUARE GARDEN FEBRUARY 1977”, this work is a new excavation soundboard that is different from it. It is clear that it is a different master because it was recorded from the BGM before the start of the show, but what is more striking is the sound itself that runs through the whole story. It is slightly wilder than the pro shot sound, but dynamic. And above all, it is wide. It is a new masterpiece that pours into your brain the historic night when you first stepped on the stage of the home venue.
