Description

KISS in 1973, while still confined to the narrow space of a club, produced their debut album that will remain in rock history. A cultural heritage soundboard that will pour that concentrated energy into your brain is here. It will be released on the best master CD! What is engraved in this work is two extremely precious consecutive performances. It is a soundboard recording of “December 21 + 22, 1973” recorded at the legendary club “The Coventry”. 1973 was the dawn of the era. At the beginning of the year, the original four members were together, and they spent their days studying club gigs while writing a group of famous songs that will remain in history. At our shop, which handles the entire history of KISS, we archive the records of such a precious period with as many masterpieces as possible. Let’s start by organizing the collection and taking a bird’s-eye view of the activities at that time. {Ace Frehley joins in January} January 30th – February 1st: East Coast (6 shows) March 9th – April 14th: East Coast (8 shows) May 4th: New York City *May? “UNRELEASED SPRING 1973 REHEARSAL” May 26th – June 15th: East Coast (9 shows) *June 16th “AMITYVILLE 1973” July 13th: New York City August 10th – September 1st: East Coast (11 shows) {November 6th – 16th “KISS” production} *December 21st: New York City ←★Beginning of this work★ *December 22nd: New York City ←★Main of this work★ *December 31st “ACADEMY OF MUSIC 1973” This is KISS in 1973. The classic albums “UNRELEASED SPRING 1973 REHEARSAL” and “AMITYVILLE 1973” have become standard, but this work follows them. While the previous two works were made months before the production of “KISS”, this work was made immediately after production. It can be called the “live performance debut”. This work is also a set of two different soundboards. Let’s introduce them individually here. The extremely rare and exquisite “December 21st” soundboard (2 songs) First of all, the soundboard recording of “December 21st”, which is the core of this work, appears. “The Coventry” is the base of the club era along with “The Daisy”. The last two days were shot with a monochrome camera by Bill Aucoin, who was the manager of the band. It is known as the oldest professional shot of KISS, despite being a single camera. Of these, the next day “December 22nd” version, which will be described later, has been made official, but the first day “December 21st” has not yet been released. The opening of this work is the soundboard recording. Moreover, the quality is wonderful. As usual, it is a master brought to us through our own related route, but it is overwhelmingly clearer than the next day “December 21st”. Although it is only two songs “Deuce” and “Cold Gin”, you can enjoy the scene of the sound check and the early version of the opening announcement on the soundboard. The full soundboard (9 songs) that will be the “live performance version 1st album” is followed by the soundboard recording of the next day “December 22nd”. The New Year’s Eve live in 1973 was KISS’s first hall performance, and the day before was also the “last show of Club Days”. As mentioned above, this day was also filmed in black and white by Bill Aucoin and was made official in “KISSOLOGY VOLUME 3”. This work is the same recording, but it is not an official copy but was woken up from the original film sound. It’s not completely different, but you can enjoy the best sound with a more natural and fresh sound. The show content depicted by such a master sound is exactly “live performance version debut album”. Eight songs other than “Kissin’ Time” and “Love Theme from Kiss” are piled up, and finally, “Baby, Let Me Go”, an early version of “Let Me Go, Rock ‘n’ Roll”, is closed. And above all, the performance that spells out the special set is historic. The band potential that will later conquer the world is filled in a small, narrow club, and it is emitting heat that seems to break through the wall at any moment. On the other hand, the atmosphere on the scene that exudes the everyday feeling of the club is also amazing. The masterpieces engraved in rock history are just “just songs” that are unfamiliar to the ears here. A few months later, the song name calls that call for squeals only get a few applause. Of course, that was the norm for KISS at that time, and there was no sign of it getting old. It is a ferocious historical spectacle that can only be found at the dawn of the scene. KISS was about to take flight from the clubs where the pain and sorrow were soaked into the world. This is a soundboard album where you can enjoy their “last club performance”. In addition to the recording of “December 21st” with its extremely rare and shining sound, there is a full recording of “December 22nd” which exploded with stage tension, just like the initial impulse of their debut album “KISS”. Soundboard recording of the “December 21st + 22nd, 1973 The Coventry” performance, which was just after the recording of their debut album “KISS”. The last two performances of the club era, especially the opening “December 21st” take, are extremely rare and of special quality. The main “December 22nd” is the same recording as the one made official in “KISSOLOGY VOLUME 3”, but it is the best master that goes back even further, so you can enjoy the full show that can be called the “live performance debut”.
