Description

The “UNMASKED Tour” was a singular point in the history of KISS. The classic sound board, which is on par with the Sydney performance, has been upgraded! It is now available as a newly excavated master 2CD brought by a unique route. Ace’s last legendary sound board This work is engraved with the “Auckland performance on December 3, 1980”. This is a stereo sound board recording. If you have noticed this article, you may already know that this show has been known for its sound board for a long time and has been loved as “AUCKLAND 1980”. Although it is the same sound board, it is a new master excavated from our own route. It is an upgrade board with different genes and sounds. If you have already experienced the release, you may have already made up your mind, but for those who have not, let’s start with the position of the show. Let’s look back at the overall picture of the only tour where Ace Frehley and Eric Carr were lined up. May 20th “UNMASKED” released・July 25th: Warm-up show・August 29th-October 13th: Europe (29 performances)←※PARIS 1980 etc.・November 8th-December 3rd: Oceania (11 performances)←★Here★《Ace Frehley’s departure》Overall picture of the “UNMASKED Tour”. In the history of KISS, which is biased towards North America, it was a strange tour of “Europe and Oceania only”, and this was the first time they advanced to the southern hemisphere. The Auckland performance of this work was the last day of such an “Oceania” leg, and his last night. Also, speaking of the first Oceania, the pro shot / sound board of the Sydney performance is also symbolic, but this work was three performances later. Upgrade master unearthed by a unique route As mentioned above, the sound board is already familiar with this show, but the quality of this work is not familiar. Although the songs “I Was Made For Loving You / New York Groove” are seamlessly connected, and various parts are recorded for a long time, it is only evidence that it is the original master. The truly shocking thing is the sound that runs through the whole work. This is already an eye-opening and ear-watering freshness. Since the recording itself is the same, the individuality of the mix table direct connection system remains the same, but the three-dimensional effect is greatly improved and the sound is extremely natural. Even the conventional master is a powerful sound board that is more than enough vivid, but compared to this newly excavated master, it is a little flat. In this work, the rise of each sound comes forward and goes down with its reverberation. Moreover, it is felt in all the notes of each instrument, and it is very dynamic. Even if it is so dynamic, it is wonderful because it is natural. If you listen carefully, the conventional board has a sense of clogging at the peak of the drum hit, whether it is due to dubbing or whether it was raised by mastering. However, although this work is just as powerful and powerful, it does not have the sharpness that pierces the ears, and the peaks are not distorted, perhaps because there is room for the sound. This wide range was not raised by remastering, but is the work of the master freshness that has been left in detail down to the fine details. The legendary “Ace Frehley’s Last Night” is depicted with such a top-of-the-line updated sound. The set is the same as the classic Sydney performance, but it is slightly different from the “European” leg of the first half of the tour. Let’s organize it by comparison. UNMASKED (3 songs)・Shandi (★)/Talk To Me/Is That You? 70’s Classics (14 songs + α)・KISS: Cold Gin/Strutter/Firehouse/Black Diamond・DESTROYER: Detroit Rock City/God Of Thunder/Shout It Out Loud/King Of the Night Time World・Others: Rock And Roll All Nite/Calling Dr. Love/Love Gun/New York Groove/2,000 Man/I Was Made For Lovin’ You *Note: “★” marks are songs that were not performed in the European leg. The previous edition was meticulously mastered to polish the traditional master, but this work is different. It has been updated to the highest peak just by the master freshness without polishing. Until now, we have made new excavations that have shocked collectors all over the world through our own route, but the momentum is still unabated. This work is a superb direct-connected sound board that is also proof of the sound. A powerful stereo soundboard recording of Ace Frehley’s final performance, “December 3, 1980, Oakland.” This new master was unearthed through our own insider route, and while retaining the individuality of the mix desk direct connection, the three-dimensional effect has been greatly improved and the sound is extremely natural. The range is wide, the drum hit peaks are spacious, and there is no sense of clogging. This is the highest peak update of the soundboard album that not only contains the valuable “UNMASKED” repertoire, but also vividly imprints the legendary “Ace Frehley’s Last Night” in your brain.
