Description

The precious masterpiece live album of “UNMASKED TOUR 1980” is here for the first time. This work contains the “Milan performance on September 2, 1980”. It is a superb product that was directly converted to CD from the master cassette. This master was brought to us through our own route. We have delivered many world-first sound boards so far, but this is an audience album that emerged from that excavation route. Before introducing the amazing sound, let’s first check the show’s position from the overall picture of the tour. “UNMASKED” released on May 20th: July 25th: Warm-up show; August 29th-October 13th: Europe (29 performances) ←★Here★; November 8th-December 3rd: Oceania (11 performances) A total of 41 performances. It was a slightly smaller tour during a period of recession in the glorious history of KISS, and the home country of America only had a warm-up gig. Among them, the Milan performance of this work was the very early concert, the fourth performance. In addition, the late Eric Carr joined prior to the tour. This work is not only the very early tour, but also Eric’s fourth performance. This show was also infamous. In fact, it is famous for the riot that occurred. It started before the show started. A group of young people without tickets broke through the entrance and entered the venue, causing a brawl inside. The police were also called out to the commotion, and even tear gas was fired. After that, the young people who caused the commotion were pulled out and the show started, but the excited venue was still in a state of chaos. Empty bottles, milk cartons (?), and fruit (??) were flying around, and the police intervened again, and the commotion was reported on the news. This work contains such a show, and fortunately or unfortunately, it is a powerful live album that makes it hard to believe that there was such a commotion. First of all, one of the reasons for this is the sound that is too amazing. I have no idea what the recording environment was like, but there was almost no audience noise, and the musical tones and singing voices were unparalleled powerful. The vivid musical tones, like laser beams, jumped straight in with a straight ball, and it was like a radio sound source, or rather, it was like the latest IEM recording. Moreover, its freshness was phenomenal. After all, it was digitized directly from the original cassette, so its freshness was the ultimate. There was no dubbing deterioration or distortion, and the noiseless sound with a wonderful sense of stability continued continuously. Another thing that did not make me feel the riot was the great performance of KISS, who was in top form and smashing away. Above all, it was the passionate performance of “THE FOX”. After all, Eric, who was 30 years old at the time, had only a career in local cover bands, but he became a member of the world’s biggest stars overnight. Moreover, even though “UNMASKED” was unpopular, that was only in America, and the tour of the European leg of this work was a great success. It’s impossible for Eric to not be inspired after seeing the enthusiasm of the large crowd when he went out into the world. The joyful and lively drumming explodes throughout the entire album. Of course, the drummer, who is the engine, pushes at full throttle, so the three of them, who are pushed by his back, also push at full throttle. The moment when KISS, a genuine live band, regained their breath is recorded in abundance. The set depicted with such a passionate performance is also delicious. Since KISS values ”big hit songs that fans love”, the set list tends to be similar, but that is not the case in this work. The attention is still on the new songs “Is That You?”, “Talk To Me”, and “You’re All That I Want” from the controversial work “UNMASKED”. “Talk To Me” was played during the reunion in 2001, but the rest are rare numbers only from that time. In particular, there are only a few performance records of “You’re All That I Want”. You can enjoy it with clear sound of master quality. To be honest, I thought, “Huh? Audience?” because it was a route that repeatedly produced the best sound boards. However, the moment I played the master, I was struck by an impact comparable to the world’s first sound board. It was such an amazing recording and show. It was a historic “riot night”, but it was also a rare set that made me forget it, and it was an energetic live performance that Eric Carr had just made his debut into the world. This is a masterpiece that unearthed such a great performance with the first appearance of Master Direct.
