Description

The “ALIVE/WORLDWIDE Tour” by the original members attracted the attention of the scene and excited the whole world. A live album that allows you to experience the burning scene at its best is now available. This work is infused with the “June 11, 1997 Utrecht performance”. It is the best audience recording. It has been a quarter century since KISS started making up again, and no makeup is now even more valuable and fresh. However, the enthusiasm of the “ALIVE/WORLDWIDE Tour” at the time, which was excited by the remake, is different from any other era. Because it is an island where sound boards and professional shots are not uncommon, the audience recording that is realistic even to the breathing of the scene shines brightly and sounds. This work is a perfect one to experience such “raw brilliance”. Before going into the contents, let’s start with the position of the show. Let’s look back from the panoramic view of the world tour that was the most successful in their career. 1996 {“KISS UNPLUGGED” released on March 12th} ・June 15th – August 10th: North America #1a (32 shows) ← *Official Detroit footage ・August 17th: Appearance with Monsters Of Rock ・August 21st – November 10th: North America #1b (57 shows) ・November 20th – December 21st: Europe #1 (19 shows) ・December 28th – 31st: North America #2 (4 shows) 1997 ・January 18th – February 15th: Japan/Oceania (15 shows) ・March 7th – May 6th: South America/North America #3 (40 shows) ・May 16th – July 5th: Europe #2 (23 shows) ← ★Here★ {“CARNIVAL OF SOULS” released on October 28th} This is KISS in 1996/1997. The early Detroit performance pro shot was made official in “KISSOLOGY VOLUME THREE”, but this work is the end of the tour. It was the 13th concert of “Europe # 2”. This work recorded at such a site is a masterpiece that combines the enthusiasm of an audience with the clarity of a customer record. It is simply detailed, beautiful, and a little mysterious. What is strange is the essential performance sound and vocals. Even if you listen carefully with headphones, you can’t find the hall sound component, the details are extremely fine and there is no sense of distance at all. It is not a close contact like a sound board, but it feels like a natural audience recording at first glance, but the more you concentrate, the more the fine parts emerge, while there is no cloudiness or turbidity at all. It definitely feels like an “audience”, but even if you analyze it, you can’t find the reason… It’s such a mysterious sound. The vivid sound depicts a full show that is different from the Detroit video. Let’s organize it by comparing it here. KISS (5 songs) Deuce / Firehouse / Cold Gin / 100,000 Years / Black Diamond (★) DESTROYER (6 songs) King Of the Night Time World / Do You Love Me? / Shout It Out Loud / God of Thunder / Detroit Rock City (★) / Beth (★) Others (8 songs) HOTTER THAN HELL: Let Me Go, Rock ‘N’ Roll / Watchin’ You DRESSED TO KILL: Rock And Roll All Nite ROCK AND ROLL OVER: Calling Dr. Love LOVE GUN: Shock Me / Love Gun ACE FREHLEY: New York Groove (★) DYNASTY: I Was Made for Lovin’ You (★) *Note: The “★” mark indicates a song that cannot be heard in the official pro shot of the Detroit performance. … and so on. This is the ultimate greatest hits, but the greatest thing about this work is that you can stand in the middle of the enthusiasm created by the masterpieces. This work picks up some of the enthusiasm of the nearby audience, but what’s more, it’s a vast chorus. This is just amazing. KISS’s masterpieces always invite singing together, but there are few with this thickness, breadth and heat. Of course, the cheers that rise up at the intro of each song erupt like a geyser, and the hand disease becomes completely part of the rhythm section. It’s exactly the enthusiasm that can only be found on the “ALIVE/WORLDWIDE Tour”. And this work has an exquisite balance and three-dimensionality between the chorus and the band sound. Even if the choir of 10,000 people sings thickly, Paul and Gene’s singing voices penetrate the center like a laser beam, and the performance is vivid even to the subtleties. The relationship between “master and servant” never breaks down, and the glory of KISS accompanied by a huge choir comes to mind. And this work also has a scene of such excessive enthusiasm. It was after the second song “King Of The Night Time World” ended. The audience rushed forward, and Paul kept saying “Everyone back! Back down more!” However, the long-awaited feelings for the reunion tour could not be contained by such words, and the live was finally interrupted. After about 20 minutes, the show resumed safely (the recording seems to have stopped during that time, and it has been faded in this work), but the whole body’s violent energy was concentrated in the throat, and the chorus became even hotter. It’s just hot. This heat and on-site feeling can never be experienced with a sound board or a pro shot. It is a privilege only for audience recording. The longer the remake KISS’s activities, the more the shock and heat were lost. This work is a live album that allows you to experience the scene in a super-realistic and superb quality. The best audience recording of “June 11, 1997 Utrecht performance”. The sound is clear, beautiful, and a little mysterious. Even when listening carefully with headphones, there is no hall sound, the details are extremely fine, and there is no sense of distance at all. You definitely feel that it is an audience, but even if you analyze it, you cannot find the reason… It is such a mysterious sound. And the enthusiasm is wonderful because it is the first reunion. Not only did a grand chorus erupt in each song, but in the beginning, there was such a commotion that the small interruption occurred. Paul shouted, “Everyone get down! Get down further!”, but it was also recorded in real time. Prins Van Oranjehal, Utrecht, Holland 11th June 1997 TRULY PERFECT/ULTIMATE SOUND Disc 1 (71:07) 1. Intro 2. Deuce 3.
