Description

KISS made their album debut and appeared all over the world in 1974. A secret master of a soundboard representing such an early period has been newly excavated! What is engraved in this work is a stereo soundboard recording of the “Long Beach performance on May 31, 1974”. Some people may have remembered the famous album “LONG BEACH ARENA 1975” because of this date and place name. Of course, this work is a completely different performance. First of all, let’s take a bird’s-eye view of the activities at that time and check the situation around there. 1974 “KISS Tour” ・January 8th – February 21st: North America #1 (9 performances) ・March 22nd – August 4th: North America #2 (64 performances) ←★Here★《August “HOTTER THAN HELL” production》 ・September 13th – October 4th: North America #3 (13 performances) “HOTTER THAN HELL Tour” ・October 16th – December 31st: North America #4 (42 performances) 1975 ・January 7th – February 22nd: North America #5 (14 performances) “DRESSED TO KILL Tour” ・March 19th – August 28th: North America #6 (65 performances) ←※LONG BEACH ARENA 1975 “ALIVE! Tour” ・September 10th – December 31st: North America #7 (50 performances) This is KISS in 1974/1975. “LONG BEACH ARENA 1975” is also on the same “May 31st”, but that was a part of the “DRESSED TO KILL Tour”. This work was the “KISS Tour” exactly one year ago. In addition, “North America # 2”, which produced this work, is also a prolific period of masterpiece soundboards. Let’s focus on the dates here. Details of “North America # 2” ・ March 22nd – April 5th (11 performances) * April 7th “DETROIT 1974 1ST NIGHT” ・ April 8th – 17th (7 performances) * April 18th “DEFINITIVE MEMPHIS 1974” ・ April 19th – May 30th (19 performances) * May 31st: Long Beach performance ← ★ This work ★ ・ June 1st – August 4th (25 performances) … and so on. In addition to the above, there are also video versions and audience recordings, but there are three types of soundboard albums. This work is the third of the extremely early soundboard trilogy, which should be called “ALIVE ZERO”. This show was broadcast on the radio station KNAC and is a staple that has produced many previously released groups, including the legendary LP bootleg “FRIED ALIVE!”. Although this work is the same live performance, it is not actually a copy or remastered reissue of the previously released groups. A precious original air check master was newly excavated from a unique related route. We succeeded in reproducing the broadcast at that time exactly as it was. Moreover, the recording time and sound of this master are different. First of all, the most important thing is the length, which is the complete version of the show. The previously released group derived from “FRIED ALIVE!” did not include the last “Baby, Let Me Go” (instead, it seems that in many cases “Rock ‘N’ Roll All Night” from another performance is included), but the new master is the complete form of the broadcast from the beginning narration to the end of the program. And this is also the full set on the day. The sound that runs through the whole story is different, and it is much more natural than “FRIED ALIVE!”. The new master is the same as the broadcast at that time, and it is an unprocessed authentic sound (although it may seem plain at first listen), and the freshness is outstanding. A radical rock corps with unusual makeup appeared… This is a soundboard album that realistically vacuum-packs the shock of such a debut era. The true form of the legendary broadcast revived in modern times by the original air check master. Stereo soundboard recording of “Long Beach performance on May 31, 1974”. This is a masterpiece digitized from the newly excavated original air check master that recorded FM broadcast by KNAC, and is a complete version that also includes “Baby, Let Me Go”, which was cut in the already released group originating from the famous legendary LP bootleg “FRIED ALIVE!”. The freshness of the sound is outstanding, and it is the birth of a new masterpiece that realistically revives the broadcast at that time. Long Beach Auditorium, Long Beach, CA.
