Description

KINGDOM COME is a famous band that took the scene by storm at the end of the 80’s. A valuable original recording that allows you to experience the first visit to Japan that was realized at that moment is now available. What is inscribed in this work is “January 1, 1989: Tokyo Dome performance”. This is an audience recording recorded at “HEAT BEAT LIVE ’89 IN BIG EGG” where he appeared with BON JOVI and RATT. KINGDOM COME is still active after several suspensions and restarts, but most of its history has been as a solo project of Lenny Wolfe. We were only active as a band for the first two years. This is also a good opportunity, so let’s look back at the show’s position from the overall picture. 1988 [“KINGDOM COME” released on February 29th] March 17th – May 20th: Europe #1 (50 performances) May 27th – September 30th + October 31st: North America #1 ( 61 performances) ・December 31st: Japan (1 performance) 1989 ・January 1st-12th: Japan (3 performances) ←★Coco★《“IN YOUR FACE” released on April 24th》・May 1st Sun: Amsterdam performance ・May 31st – August 15th: North America #2 (31 performances) ・September 16th + 21st: Europe #2 (2 performances)《KINGDOM COM disbanded》 1988/1989 when this was the band KINGDOM COME. They announced their disbandment in the second half of 1989, and relaunched as Lenny’s solo band in 1990. Even after that, KINGDOM COME has only come to Japan once, and their first performance was at BON JOVI’s New Year’s Eve event “HEAT BEAT LIVE ’89”. On New Year’s Eve 1988, four groups performed with Britney Fox under the title “FINAL COUNT DOWN,” and on the following New Year’s Day, three groups performed under the title “BLAST OFF TOKYO.” Newcomer KINGDOM COME was the first. This work recorded at such a show is a powerful audience with a surprising direct feeling. Original masters by masters are being discovered recently, and recent HR records such as HEART’s masterpiece “TOKYO 1988 2ND NIGHT” and BON JOVI’s “BUDOKAN 1987 FINAL NIGHT” are very popular. Even in a large venue, the sound without distance received rave reviews. This work also shows his skill… or should I say, it is more shocking than ever before. After all, the location of this work is Tokyo Dome, which has just been completed. It is one of the most difficult places to record in Japan, and especially in the 1980s when sound production know-how and recording technology were not established, it was common for the sound to be boarish and blurry. Even though he is a true master…I thought, but this work has a very thick core, and the thick sound comes right in front of me. The outline of the heavy bass, which tends to be blurry, is wonderful, the bass line is clear, and the groove inherited from LED ZEPPELIN is also vivid. Moreover, even though it is that powerful, it doesn’t scare you at all, and Lenny Wolfe’s sexy singing voice cuts through everything like a laser beam. It’s a wonderful sound that makes me wonder, “Where on earth is this Tokyo Dome?” What is depicted with such direct sound is a stage that can be called a live performance version of the masterpiece “KINGDOM COME” of the era that dominated the topic of the scene. In the first place, their live information itself is valuable, so let’s organize their sets here. KINGDOM COME (7 songs)・Shout It Out/Living Out Of Touch/Pushin’ Hard/17/What Love Can Be/Get It On/The Shuffle Others (3 songs)・BURNS LIKE A STAR:Break Down The Walls・IN YOUR FACE: Who Do You Love/Perfect ‘O’… and it looks like this. As you can see from the above schedule, it was just before “IN YOUR FACE” and while they also performed new songs “Who Do You Love” and “Perfect ‘O'”, the focus was on their debut work “KINGDOM COME”. Seven of the 10 songs are played on a large scale, including the famous songs “Living Out Of Touch”, “What Love Can Be”, and of course “Get It On” which shocked the whole world. That bluesy yet strict ideal of hard rock is beautifully displayed on stage. And “Break Down The Walls”, a masterpiece from the STONE FURY era, will bring tears to the eyes of old fans!! It has nothing to do with the usual plagiarism, but is the ideal of melodious HR that makes the most of Lenny’s own beautiful voice. You can also experience the songs exactly on-site. KINGDOM COME made me smile bitterly, but I couldn’t resist its charm. The sound is a pure cultivation of LED ZEPPELIN’s HR elements, and Robert Plant’s voice makes you want to visit France. And the famous songs that bring back flashbacks to the great albums of their predecessors…this is a great band that embodies the utopia that Plant and Page themselves wanted to portray. A valuable original recording that allows you to experience the golden age of bubbles on-site. Masterpiece audience recording of “January 1, 1989: Tokyo Dome Performance”. This is a masterpiece that was directly digitized from the original cassette, and the sound is so direct and powerful that you can’t believe it’s from Tokyo Dome. The extra-thick core is right in front of your eyes, and the vivid details down to the words of the confectionery are stunning. This is a miraculous live album that allows you to experience the golden age of bubbles, such as the masterpiece “KINGDOM COME” number of the era and the super famous song “Break Down The Walls” from the STONE FURY era.
