This is a two-disc set of the best stereo soundboard recordings from an unreleased live performance by the quintet led by the virtuoso player Kenny Barron, recorded at the New Morning in Paris, France on April 18, 1990. The performers are Charles Fambrough and Thelonious Monk band member Ben Riley in the rhythm section, trumpet player Eddie Henderson, who has been active in Herbie Hancock’s band since the ’70s, and young saxophonist Vincent Harling, who has performed with Nat Adderley, Horace Silver, Art Blakey, Jack DeJohnette, and others in the ’80s. You can enjoy the elegant phrases and melodic tones of the one and only virtuoso Kenny Barron in this unreleased live performance for the first time.
