Description

This is a 1 hour 25 minute high quality audience recording of the live performance at the Marquee Club in London on December 2nd, held during the European tour accompanying the solo album “Main Offender” from November 27th to December 18th, 1992. The title “IT’S OLDIE ROCK AND ROLL” was released by the MASTERPORT label in 2003 and was well received by fans and media for its “first complete version” and “best sound quality ever”. It has been remastered from the original source. Since it was based on a master handed over from an overseas recorder, there was noise at the divide point in several songs, but all of it was removed. As it was a club show at the Marquee, it was held in a secret gig state, just like the Stones in 1971, and the Jagger brothers, Mick and Chris, rushed to the venue. This live performance was first recorded as a bonus on the CD of the 1992 French performance titled “VIVE LA FRANCE” with a poor sound quality audience recording, but after that, Scorpio recorded a better sound quality audience recording titled “YAP YAP”, but the drawback was that it was incomplete. This take can be said to be the master take of the high quality sound source used in “YAP YAP”, and the show is recorded completely with high quality stereo audience recording. The sound quality is as if it was recorded at the front of a live house, with Keith’s guitar being loud, the cheers not being heard much, and the vocals being a little deep, and the realism unique to a small venue is conveyed well. Perhaps because it was a live performance in such a special situation, the band seems to be quite relaxed, including Keith, and it can be said that it is typical of him in his solo live performances to take the sound off as much as possible when it is important, such as in Chuck Berry-style numbers like I Could Have Stood You Up. Bobby’s saxophone is also recorded with a vivid sound, making you feel happy and lonely. As mentioned above, the sound quality is very good, there is no sense of equalization, and it is recorded with a thick and natural sound that customers prefer.
