Description
This is the version of the promotional interview that Keith did at the time of the release of the album “MAIN OFFENDER” that was broadcast in Japan. This is a nostalgic video now, and the unique composition of the live footage of the Hollywood Palladium in 1988 is inserted in between. However, when it comes to “How I Wish”, it is a strange edit that mixes the latest live footage at the time, the latest live footage of the Town & Country Club in December 1992, with the Hollywood Palladium, and furthermore, “999” from the new album uses the live footage of the Town & Country Club completely. In between, Keith takes on the interview with a relaxed look on his face, but it starts with, for example, “In the Stones, I can be selfish, but in the Wynos, I have to be strong because I’m the leader,” and it’s interesting to see him praising Mick again, saying, “I think what Mick is doing (in the Stones) is amazing. He made me realize it,” and “I’m indebted to Mick.” On the other hand, since each member was working on a solo project, it was interesting to hear the differences between them, such as “Mick is secretive and won’t let me hear his solo sounds,” and “Ronnie is a troublesome guy because he calls me at 5am to let me hear his solos.” However, when the topic turned to the pressing issue of Bill Wyman’s progress at the time, Keith’s expression, which had been relaxed until then, suddenly darkened and he said, “I don’t mind if you quit,” in a few words, but still looked lonely. In this way, it is not just an interview for album promotion, but also a rich content that conveys the situation within the Stones at that time. Throughout, Keith talks about how they could play live in a smaller venue than they did with the Stones, and that they don’t mind traveling by simple bus… which is exactly what you would expect from Wynoz mode. Above all, the fact that “MAIN OFFENDER” is the latest album makes me nostalgic and reminds me of those days. This DVD contains rare interview footage that is often overlooked these days (and the audio is in stereo, which is a plus).
