The trio consisting of Keith, DeJohnette, and Peacock, who first met on the masterpiece “Tales of Another” released by Gary Peacock in 1977, was gathered again by Manfred Eicher in 1983 and released three albums at once, “Standards Vol.1”, “Standards Vol.2”, and “Changes”. Since the three were the leading improvisers in the jazz world, it was surprising to hear them play traditional, orthodox standards, but the standard that we were used to hearing was given new life by these three, who had the outstanding technique and innovative approach that no one else had been able to achieve before, and it was reborn as a completely different song as if it was an original piece by the three, and it was highly praised all over the world. This work was recorded at the Berwald Concert Hall in Stockholm, Sweden on October 3, 1989.
