Description
The Manchester performance of “The Tour of Life” shocked enthusiasts all over the world when a full professional shot was discovered. The best soundboard album is now available. What is included in this work is, of course, “Manchester performance on April 10, 1979”. This is a superb soundboard recording that records the whole story. The pro shot that was discovered the other day had a great sound board, but this work is not a drop in sound… As avid collectors may know, the soundboard master of this Manchester performance was also discovered in 2012 prior to the pro shot. This work is the highest version of that leaked sound board. Its quality is truly the highest. Like Pro Shot, it is a monaural recording intended for broadcast on Granada TV, and the mix is also the same. However, I don’t know if it’s because of the gene or the difference in route, but the freshness is better than the professional shot audio. The pro-shot excavated the other day had periodic momentary drops in the sound, and in the DVD “MANCHESTER 1979”, 400 places of sound drops were repaired and preserved permanently. On the other hand, the leaked sound board has no sound drop from the beginning, and the seamless and glossy sound penetrates the entire story. Although it is such a superb sound board, this work further updates the highest peak. It was produced by overseas researchers, and the masters used have been carefully selected to be the best, and the mastering has also been carefully performed. Although no major processing has been done since it was originally created to be the best, the pitch has been adjusted accurately and the volume, which was slightly fluctuating, has been adjusted evenly. Rather than trying to increase sound pressure, we focus on creating a natural listening experience that doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable. In addition, an opening scene newly discovered in the pro shot version has been added. Since the performance has not yet begun, there is only background music playing in the venue and the voices of Kate and the staff backstage, but this further enhances the feeling of a historical document. Since it is a historical master, the sound and beauty have not been altered in any way, raising the level of perfection as a live album (on the contrary, the signal sound “beep” in the middle intermission that was in the pro shot is It’s not included because it wasn’t included in the original soundboard master, and even if it was included, it just feels strange as a live album). What a wonderful thing the miraculous “The Tour of Life” is depicted with that sound. In the professional shot, I was transfixed by the pantomime-like performance that boldly introduced overwhelming visual beauty and theatrical elements, but listening to the live album with only audio gives a completely different impression. Kate’s youthful singing voice is coquettish yet dignified, and has a transparent beauty. Because it is a soundboard, it flows into your ears with the same closeness as a studio work, and because it is a live performance, it whispers vividly even the breathing that goes up during the performance. With such a singing voice, all the songs on the two albums “THE KICK INSIDE” and “LIONHEART” (except Oh to Be in Love) are revived, and “Egypt” and “Violin”, which will be included in “NEVER FOR EVER”, also have a new feel. You can feel the mischievousness of “Oh England My Lionheart” in which “Oh, oh, oh, England♪” is replaced with “Manchester” at the breath level. Pro Shot had the real pleasure of enjoying the freshness of the master on a big screen, but I would rather listen to this work carefully with headphones. Every single voice and breath is historical, and you can fully enjoy the immersive feeling of the sound board of Kate, who was only 20 years old. If you trace the origin, it’s still a Granada TV recording, so it’s not that different from the pro shot version. However, there is no need for restoration, and the glossy master is fresh and fresh, and above all, the contents are too beautiful and mellow. No matter how great a soundboard or pro shot is discovered, there is no way it can disappear into the darkness. It should be passed down as a historical masterpiece live album.
