Description

Rob Halford returned and re-descended to Earth in 2004’s Steel God JUDAS PRIEST. The soundboard album is now available. What is engraved on this work is “June 10, 2004 SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL”. This is the best stereo soundboard recording. It was in July 2003 that news of Rob’s return spread around the world. After that, they restarted in earnest with “METALOGY” and began a tour entitled “REUNITED TOUR” to show their comeback to the world. First, let’s check the show’s position in the schedule. [METALOGY released on May 11th] ・June 2nd-27th: Europe (15 performances) ←★Here★ ・July 10th-September 2nd: North America (32 performances)《October-November “ANGEL OF RETRIBUTION” production》This is JUDAS PRIEST’s 2004. The “REUNITED TOUR”, which was held before the production of the revival work “ANGEL OF RETRIBUTION”, was a tour limited to Europe and America. The “European” leg went around summer festivals, and the “North American” leg participated in “OZZFEST 2004”. The “SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL” of this work was the 6th concert in the beginning (by the way, in 2004, Rob is also famous for serving as a substitute singer for BLACK SABBATH.The Camden performance was the first concert in the North American leg. It was the 28th performance.) This work recorded at such a show is truly the best. This is a broadcast of a festival representing Sweden, which has become a metal powerhouse in the world, and the sound and mix are impeccable. Since then, it has become very popular as “You can listen to the revival of PRIEST!”, but even now, 16 years later, nothing has surpassed it. It is a completely official sound board of a level that can no longer be said to be four or five. The sound depicts the ultimate steel Shangri-La, the concentrated best of the Golden Age. It’s not a full version because it’s edited according to the broadcast schedule, but it’s packed with 13 treasures. Speaking of PRIEST, which has recently been revived, the official work “RISING IN THE EAST” is famous, so let’s compare and summarize the set. 70’s Numbers (5 songs)・Wings of Fate: The Ripper/Victim Of Changes・Gate of Betrayal: Diamonds & Rust・Stained Class: Beyond The Realms Of Death・Murder Machine: The Green Manalishi (With the Two-Pronged Crown) (★) 80’s/90’s numbers (8 songs)・British Steel: Metal Gods・Golden Spectrum: Heading Out To The Highway (★)・Cry of Revenge: Hellion/Electric Eye/You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’ – Code of Immorality: The Sentinel (★) – Turbo: Turbo Lover – Painkiller: A Touch Of Evil/Painkiller *Note: Songs marked with a “★” cannot be heard even in the official work “RISING IN THE EAST”. …and it looks like this. There are no songs from the Ripper era, “Rocka Rolla” or “Rum It Down”, but there is a wide range of songs, including at most two songs from other major albums. It is delicious that there are three songs that cannot be heard in “RISING IN THE EAST”, but in total it is a show that is a total settlement like the 2004 version of “EPITAPH”. And the performance that plays the set is also wonderful. As expected, the youthfulness of the 80’s is nowhere to be expected, but the initial impulse of this being the 6th performance of the revival filled the band with energy, even in the decisive line, “PRIEST is Back!!”. You can enjoy a much fresher show than “RISING IN THE EAST”, which was full of tour fatigue. 16 years have passed since the return of the Steel God. This year, the postponed 50th anniversary event is also scheduled, and the metallic luster of Steel God is becoming more and more polished. This is a masterpiece of a live album where you can enjoy the moment of their fresh start, the start dash of only 6 performances, with official quality sound. Sweden Rock Festival, Norje, Sweden 10th June 2004 STEREO SBD (75:11) 1. The Hellion 2. Electric Eye 3. Metal Gods 4. Heading Out To The Highway 5. The Ripper 6. A Touch Of Evil 7. The Sentinel 8.
