Description

40 years after the legendary first visit to Japan, the Steel God has made his 13th appearance. Introducing the first powerful live album! This work includes “November 23, 2018 Barrow Culture Hall Performance”. This is a superb audience recording recorded in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture. This is a venue that you don’t often hear about at outside concerts, but first of all, let’s check the show’s position from the schedule. ・November 21: Zepp Sapporo ・November 23: Barrow Cultural Hall [This work] ・November 25: Okayama Civic Center ・November 26: Grand Cube Osaka ・November 28: Tokyo Dome City Hall・November 29th: Musashino Forest All 6 performances. The venue was exceptional. It’s Gifu instead of Nagoya, and if it’s Okayama instead of Hiroshima, the Tokyo performance will be in Musashino. The date was a perfect example of the recent lack of venues. Among them, this production was performed in Tajimi, which is about an hour’s drive from Nagoya. The sound of this work is truly the best. The person who made it was Mr. “Western Japan’s Strongest Taper”, who is well known at our store. I have always introduced myself as “having a thorough knowledge of all the live spaces in Western Japan,” but I thought Tajimi would be difficult… or so. This time too, it was recorded with stunning sound. In fact, what flows out of this work is a glossy and neat metal sound. The sharp-edged riffs, needle-sharp shouts, and repeated hits of the bass drum are extremely cutting-edge. Of course, this doesn’t mean that the sound hurts your ears (by any means!). The venue’s acoustics are slightly sucked in, and the intense sound is beautifully colored. It is not the type that dulls the edges, but has a more unique metallic luster. Although you can feel the sharpness of the performance, it is pleasant to the ears. Although it is sharp, it shines glossily. It’s like a special sound for recording JUDAS PRIEST. Moreover, there are almost no strange voices or screams from the surrounding area. The Tajimi performance was a sold out venue along with Tokyo Dome City. Even in this work, between songs, the vast applause conveys the tremendous enthusiasm, but when the band starts playing, only the thick and thick heavy metal dominates. I don’t know how much Mr. “Strongest” knows about Barrow Culture Hall, but it is a masterpiece of power and beauty that makes you realize that “any Kobo brush is the best.” The “40th year of Japan performance” depicted with that sound will make your eyes excited as you listen to the famous songs that have been played for the first time in a while. Although “Saints In Hell,” “Tyrant,” and “Delivering The Goods,” which were a hot topic in each country’s leg, were not included, it was the first time in 34 years since 1984 that Rob sang “Desert Plains” and “Night Comes Down” in Japan. . “Running Wild” has been played since 1979 (although it was played at HALFORD in 2000). And the new songs from the masterpiece “FIREPOWER” that are related to this are also wonderful. Not only “Firepower” with its solemn intro, but also the authentic PRIEST “Lightning Strike” and “No Surrender”, which starts with the heartwarming MC saying, “Heavy metal hero Glenn Tipton said this,” are all amazing. . And “Rising From Ruins”. The dramatic number led by the overture “Guardians” depicts the unfading aesthetic of PRIEST, and the contrast that falls into “Freewheel Burning”, which rushes forward without any pause, is amazing. PRIEST himself who plays such a set is also amazing. Most overwhelming of all is Rob Halford, the embodiment of steel. Far from being outdone by the ensemble, which has strangely become younger due to Glenn’s departure, they hit high notes in top form and sing dramatically with a variety of tones. The call and response before “The Green Manalishi” was also incredibly relaxed. Their strong performance has been knocking out metal heads around the world since the beginning of the world tour, and fortunately it hasn’t changed in Japan. What was that “EPITAPH TOUR”? He shows off his steel throat, which you can’t help but think about. The 40th year of performances in Japan has finally begun. As of this update, the Okayama and Osaka performances have ended, and the final performance in Tokyo will begin tomorrow. This work is the first sound report that precedes it, and is a famous album that could represent the tour. The Japanese edition of the “FIREPOWER TOUR”, which is being hailed as “the best tour after the revival” all over the world. Enjoy the fastest live album to your heart’s content!
