Description
Currently, “GRASPOP METAL MEETING” is the eye of the storm in the collector world. Four masterpiece live albums will be released at once! This work is the highlight of the work, the steel god JUDAS PRIEST edition. This work is recorded in “Dessel performance on June 18, 2022”. It is a powerful audience recording when the third day of “GRASPOP METAL MEETING” was performed. Speaking of “GRASPOP METAL MEETING”, the rush of official professional shots is still fresh in my memory, but not all the performers were distributed. Currently, audience recordings of such undistributed bands are being excavated. This work is the JUDAS PRIEST edition. This week, the IRON MAIDEN and SAXON editions of “GRASPOP METAL MEETING” will be released at the same time, but these are all sister works by the same recording artist. You can fully experience the three bands that represent heavy metal with the same recording artist collection. This show is also a part of the 50th anniversary tour of the steel god. The legs have changed since the last report, so let’s review the overall picture of the tour once again. 2021 August 15 “BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR 2021” September 8-26: North America #1 (13 performances) September 26: Richie Faulkner emergency surgery 2022 March 4-April 13: North America #2 (23 performances) May 31-August 7: Europe #1 (33 performances) ←★Here★ October 13-November 2: North America #3a (14 performances) November 5: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony November 7-November 29: North America #3b (15 performances) 2023 May 3-June 14: Europe #2 (19 performances) This is the overall picture of the “50 HEAVY METAL YEARS Tour” that has been announced so far. This year, the band will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and they are expected to perform with K.K. Downing at the ceremony in November. They are currently touring the European summer festivals leading up to that, and this work was the 9th concert of “Europe #1”. This work, which records such a show, is a great recording that combines directness and dynamism. As mentioned above, it is the same recording artist collection as the IRON MAIDEN and SAXON editions, and the sound is very similar. The tight direct feeling that is characteristic of outdoors with zero echo is wonderful, and at the same time, the thickness of the PA output is also drawn out as it picks up the subtleties. At the beginning, “Battle Hymn”, the bass is too strong and causes chatter, and the sound quality becomes unstable in the following “One Shot At Glory”, perhaps because they tried to correct the settings, but it is stable after that. You can fully enjoy the heavy metal festival with a well-balanced tight sound. The metallic sound depicts the full show of the 50th anniversary tour, which is a little different from the North American leg. Let’s summarize the contents here. 70s/80s Murder Machine: The Green Manalishi (With The Two Prong Crown)/Hell Bent For Leather British Steel: Breaking The Law/Living After Midnight Cry of Vengeance: You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’/Electric Eye Law of Immorality: Freewheel Burning/The Sentinel Others: Victim Of Changes/Diamonds & Rust/Turbo Lover 90s Painkiller: One Shot At Glory/Hell Patrol/Painkiller Firepower: Lightning Strike … and so on. “Battle Hymn” and “The Hellion” are omitted because they are played as SEs instead of live performances. Perhaps because it was a festival appearance, the number of songs was reduced compared to the North American leg, making it a rich set. Accordingly, the aim of the set has also changed. Until now, the concept was to select as many albums as possible evenly, but in the European leg, popular songs that do not adhere to the album frame are collected. In other words, it has gone from “historical” to “greatest hits”. Of course, even in such a situation, the symbols of the tour such as the opening of “One Shot At Glory” and the pure metallic flow that avalanches into “Lightning Strike”, and the delicious revival song “Hell Patrol” are firmly maintained. Even so, this year’s “GRASPOP METAL MEETING” was gorgeous. Metal bands who had been waiting for the revival of the scene gathered to compete for the performance slot, and performed a passionate performance that competed with the fierce. It was a rich and heavy heavy metal festival that reminded me of MONSTERS OF ROCK and ROCKPOP FESTIVAL in the 1980s. Among them, the live albums of the heavyweights who had a special presence but did not have a pro shot distribution are released all at once. A powerful audience recording of “GRASPOP METAL MEETING on June 18, 2022”. This is a tight and dynamic masterpiece from the same recording artist collection as the IRON MAIDEN and SAXON volumes. It is full of the flavor of outdoor music with zero echo, and the sound emitted from the PA is recorded directly. The extremely thick core with no sense of distance is recorded straight, and the details are clear. Perhaps because it picks up even the subtleties of the sound output, it is not only solid but also thick, and it is a new masterpiece that allows you to experience Graspop in 2022, which has become a rare heavy metal paradise in reaction to the pandemic.
