The 2017 Japan tour, which was the first in four years, had a total of five performances from February 1st to the special performance on the 7th, and the highlight was the special performance at Nippon Budokan on February 7th, which was recorded in master quality and pro shot from the broadcast footage. The final song, “Troubled Child,” was not aired due to equipment trouble, and the last encore song, “Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’,” was also not aired due to time constraints, so that part was filled in with the best quality audience footage, achieving a complete recording of 136 minutes. The concept was to completely reproduce the two most popular albums in the band’s career, “Escape (Escape, 1981)” and “Frontiers (Frontiers, 1983),” which is equivalent to the US tour before coming to Japan. And Arnel Pineda’s vocals were as wonderful as ever, reproducing the numbers from “Escape” as they were on the album with vocals reminiscent of the heyday. And the cheers of joy when “Don’t Stop Believin'” began from the intro announcing the start of the show, and the subsequent numbers performed in the same order as on the album were all wonderful.
