Titled “An Acoustic Evening of Jon Anderson: Voice of Yes”, the North American tour took place from February to March 2012, and on March 14th, the Norfolk performance was recorded in full with an ultra-high quality audience recording. John’s solo live performances are often recorded with high quality sound due to the size of the venue, but this one is definitely the best sound quality among them. The cheers are loud, but John’s voice and guitar are captured with outstanding sound, and it is a truly excellent live take that no Yes fan would be moved by listening to this sound. Not only is the sound clear, but the stickiness and luster of the sound are at the highest level, and it was probably recorded in the best equipment and recording position. From soft to loud sounds, the sound balance and texture are impressive. John also performed at the same venue in April of last year, surrounded by enthusiastic fans, and his performance was wonderful. In a homely atmosphere, the sound was so realistic that you could almost feel like you were there. The fourth song, Bob Marley’s cover One Love, had the audience singing along. Before America, which he didn’t perform last time, John said, “I didn’t say this last time, but I’ve become an American citizen,” and was met with cheers from the audience. He had a cold on the day, but listening to the sound, you can hear his powerful singing voice, which doesn’t make you feel that way at all, until the end.
