Description

The million dollar guitarist Johnny Winter, who sadly passed away in 2014, performed at Rainbow Music Hall in Denver on October 19th during the US tour for the release of his 1980 album “RAISIN’ CAIN”. This is a complete recording from the soundboard source of the FM broadcast master. The set list was a time when Winter was gradually returning to his roots from the strong R&R sound of the 70s, and the opening song was “Hideaway”, followed by the familiar flow of “Killing Floor”. The second half of the album started with Dylan’s “Highway 61 Revisited”, and featured two consecutive Stones numbers, as well as a strong R&R performance. Just like this album, which was the last album of the CBS/Blue Sky era, which can be said to be a transitional period, this is a band ensemble with a trio formation and chemistry that is unique to this period.
