The original Heartbreakers’ earliest recordings, a live and rehearsal recording from May 1975 in New York, have been newly digitally transferred and are now available! The original Heartbreakers were formed by Johnny Thunders and Jerry Nolan, who had left the New York Dolls, and Richard Hell, who had left Television. The rehearsal was held on May 29, 1975 in Coventry, New York, and the live performance on the following day, the 30th, was recorded in mono audience recording. The first gig after Walter Rua, guitarist for the Demons, joined the band in July of the same year, and this is a valuable recording that allows you to hear the Heartbreakers in a three-piece formation. Digitally transferred from the low-generation master, the four rehearsal songs have average sound quality for the time, but the balance is good and the positioning deviation caused by the master has been carefully corrected. “Blank Generation” is not a complete take, but only a partial performance with the PA balance adjusted, but the other three songs are all complete and you can hear the high-tension performance as if it were a live performance. And the live performance the next day is slightly boosted, but the sound quality is still quite good for that time, and the overall sound distortion has been corrected to a degree that does not damage the original sound, and the extremely low volume in the middle part of “I Wanna Be Loved” has been corrected so that it does not feel unnatural and has been remastered.
