Description
A Japanese program featuring John Lennon’s two major professional shot live shows has been decided to be released. This work includes the famous program “Golden Western Music Live” by a certain public broadcasting station. This program is the Western music version of “BS Saturday Live” that was broadcast from 2006 to 2010, and introduces many masterpiece videos that remain in rock history. It is a music program that has gained popularity due to its simple structure, which focuses on live footage without any unnecessary planning corners, and its selection of masterpiece footage and outstanding quality. The famous John Lennon special was broadcast on May 26, 2009. The program was divided into two parts, with the first part covering the 1969 Toronto performance and the second part covering the 1972 New York performance. This work is a recording of such a special program by a domestic record enthusiast. At our store, we have archived numerous music programs from this person’s best master, and this work is one of them. Since it is already broadcast in the digital era, you can enjoy it in master quality with zero deterioration. Now, let’s introduce each video individually. [Part 1: 1969 Rock and Roll Revival Concert] The first thing that appears is the “Rock and Roll Revival Concert” that the Beatles performed on “September 13, 1969″ before they disbanded. This is a video of him appearing with Eric Clapton, Alan White, who later joined YES, Klaus Voorman, and Yoko Ono. This show became a live album “With a Prayer for Peace,” but it also included one song each from the stages of Bo Diddley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, and Little Richard. You can also enjoy passionate performances by rock’n’roll pioneers. In fact, the video version is also familiar as “Sweet Toronto,” but this work is only the broadcast version. A program-specific caption has been added to make it even easier to get into. Each song has a simple explanation, and the pioneers also have Japanese captions introducing them. On John’s stage, the MC also has a Japanese translation, and each word is vividly conveyed. As expected, there is no surprising new information, but you can enjoy it once again as a different version of that masterpiece. Although the order has been reversed, the front swing is even more unique than the Japanese subtitles. This program features celebrities as facilitators, and Monsieur Monsieur was in charge of John Lennon’s episode. He was the same generation as John, one year older, and his words were not the usual “admiration for the Beatles,” but words that were unique to a musician who lived through the same era. Of course, it’s not a strange sense of rivalry, but rather a warm tone about how foreign superstars were viewed at that time. [Part 2: ONE TO ONE concert in New York, 1972] Monsieur’s commentary enters again, and we move on to the second part. This is a professional shot of the “August 30, 1972 Madison Square Garden performance” that was held as part of the “ONE TO ONE Movement” aimed at supporting facilities for children with disabilities. For John, who did not do a full-scale solo tour, it was the only full concert since the Beatles’ live activities ceased in 1966. These are also videos that were officially released as “LIVE IN NEW YORK CITY” and “ONE TO ONE CONCERT,” and the press DVD reprinted from the Japanese version of the laser disc was also very popular at our store. This work is based on the broadcast version of “ONE TO ONE CONCERT”, starting from the stage of Stevie Wonder and Roberta Flack, and John has been edited mainly for the second half of the show after “Come Together”. There were two performances at MSG on August 30th, daytime and nighttime, but the one you can see in this work is the “nighttime performance.” In the “daytime section” that was partially seen in “LIVE IN NEW YORK CITY”, John was also nervous about the big stage after a long time, but in this work he has regained his true form. In particular, the excitement of “Come Together” was on a whole other level, with John and Wayne Tex Gabriel of the Elephants sharing the mic, and at the end, John yelled “stop the war!” ), it is completely different from the “LIVE IN NEW YORK CITY” version. Furthermore, it is interesting that even in “LIVE IN NEW YORK CITY”, the cuts are different even for songs that use “night section”. And finally, Monsieur Thrice appears. He described John as “looking charming,” and added, “I guess he was thinking, “If I appeared on Come Together, people would think I was cool.”” It’s refreshing to hear John’s words explore his mental state (though the actual show was “Power to the People” was the opening song, so Monsieur was wrong, but his easy-going, non-maniacal nature was very nice.) And what is shocking is the secret story that is revealed at the end. In the 1970s, Monsieur was taking a sauna somewhere in Tokyo, and John Lennon happened to come in. Not only the probability theory that makes you want to exclaim, “What a miracle!”, but also the two of them, naked and alone in a small private room… This is an amazing episode that easily pushes the limits of your imagination even when you try to visualize the scene. This is a DVD version of the famous program that features a double feature of John Lennon’s classic footage. Although the footage is familiar to fans, the quality is superb, and the unique Japanese captions and Monsieur’s narration add a new mood to the movie. Broadcast Date: 26th May 2009 (88:55) 1.
