John & Eve McLaughlin John McLaughlin/Unreleased Tracks 1967-1974

This is a compilation of rare recordings from 1970 to 1974 by John McLaughlin. First, four unreleased tracks from the studio sessions of the album “Emerald Vision” released in 1974 as the Mahavishnu Orchestra are recorded in master quality and soundboard recordings. Although it was originally planned to be a two-disc set, it was eventually released as a one-LP, so all four tracks are rare tracks that were not included in the album. This was the second period when Narada Michael Walden and Jean-Luc Ponty participated, and it is impressive that this work is different from the previous work that made full use of the transcendent ensemble. The fifth track is the soundtrack of a documentary film about Sri Chinmoy, which Santana was greatly respected, and is also an unreleased recording that Santana is said to have participated in. From the sixth track onwards, five studio sessions from the US:WKCR radio station on August 27, 1970 are recorded. This rare recording was recorded during the precious period after he joined Miles’ band, and features him performing with his wife and playing partner at the time, Eve McLaughlin. As a bonus, it also includes a live recording from the BBC in 1967 when he was still unknown and participated in the Mike Carr Quartet.
