Description
On July 21, 1972, a complete high-quality audience recording of Joe Cocker and the Chris Stainton Band’s concert at the Rainbow Theater in London was recorded. It uses a personal recording cassette made by a Japanese journalist living in London at the time, and is the world’s first complete sound source. (A photo of the master cassette is also included on the inner jacket.) Joe Cocker’s powerful, emotional, and energetic vocals that can be heard throughout the album are deeply moving. This was a live performance to promote their new album “SOMETHING TO SAY” at the time, and six songs from the new album were played. The official live album “Live In LA” from this tour was later released in 1976, but there are seven songs that overlap with “Live In LA”: 2, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 14. The remaining 7 songs have not been recorded for official live performances. The only albums that overlap with the masterpiece live album “Mad Dogs And Englishmen” released in 1970 are The Letter, Feelin’ Alright, and Cry Me A River, so from this perspective, J Joe Cocker was in the past at this time. It can be seen that he was aiming for a new frontier without being bound by. Chris Stainton’s piano play with a strong presence is also worth listening to. The sound quality is also of a very high standard for a recording at the time, and it is a must-listen that is sure to amaze Joe Cocker fans around the world. A historically very valuable live take is now available. Live at Rainbow Theatre, Finsbury Park, London, England 21st July 1972 TRULY AMAZING/PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) 1. Opening 2.
