Description

This is a recording of the performance at the Fillmore West in San Francisco on March 13th, from the first American tour at the time of their debut in 1969, with a reasonably good audience recording for that time. First of all, the songs from the debut album were the focus of this time, and while they had a strong blues flavor, they also featured hard prog elements. Although the members were a simple four-piece band before keyboardist John Evan joined, their high level of performance was already overwhelming. And even before the release of their first album, “Sunday Impressions,” and their second album, “Stand Up,” an early masterpiece that reached number one in the UK, they had already been performed live from there, and the worldview of blues rock that incorporates a jazzy approach is valuable for learning about Tull’s roots before their later prog and electronic influences became more pronounced. 01.
