Description

A complete recording of the Budokan performance on December 2nd, the last day of the 1978 Japan tour, where the collaboration with Stanley Clarke was a hot topic, with an ultra-high quality audience recording. Contains the master tape direct version of “Explosion”, which received high praise as “the highest sound quality of the 1978 tour”. In addition to being recorded with a more natural and superior sound quality, there is also an encore part of less than 20 minutes that was replaced with a different sound source of poor quality in the previous release, 3 songs: ‘Cause We’ve Ended As Lovers, Blue Wind, and Superstition. However, from a recently discovered separate tape containing an encore by the same recording person, it is recorded as an ultra-high-quality audience recording that is the same as the main story. The main part is also recorded with a straighter and more natural sound quality that is free from excessive equalization, and the sound is clearer and has an increased sense of separation compared to the previous releases. It feels like the natural atmosphere that was lost in previous releases due to the increased sound pressure has been revived. (Because it’s a master direct, you can hear some hiss, but it’s not noticeable once the performance starts.) Stanley’s solo time in the middle, where the familiar School Days pops out, is the best listening spot due to its good sound quality. Masu. Although it spans discs 1 and 2, Stanley’s Journey To Love and Lopsy Lu, in which the entire band gives an attractive performance, are the best places to listen. You can also hear the details of Tony Hymas’ colorful keyboard play and Simon Phillips’ puffy drum play. Scatterbrain, where Jeff’s miraculous play explodes, is also recorded with the clearest tone. The drum solo is also recorded with unprecedented clarity. At the end, you can hear Jeff’s cheerful MC saying, “We’ll come back to Japan. Japanese People Wonderful! Domo Arigatou Mashito!” The definitive edition of the 1978 tour sound source recorded with the world’s highest sound quality while recording from the audience.
