Description
Jeff Beck returned to Japan in 2006 to participate in the “UDO MUSIC FESTIVAL,” which left behind a legend in the history of Japanese Western music. Introducing the ultimate multi-camera pro shot. [The ultimate version with the only drawback completely restored] This work includes “July 22, 2006: Fuji Speedway Performance”. This day was a legend that will remain in the history of Japanese Western music. A major music company even put up a sign for this large-scale rock festival that read, “Reviving the excitement of Woodstock!” Over the two days, 30 bands/musicians appeared, including some of the biggest names in the rock scene, old and new, such as KISS, SANTANA, Paul Rodgers, THE DOOBIE BROTHERS, ALICE IN CHAINS, and more. . However, when I opened the lid, there was a record failure. Perhaps it was the inaccessible location, the rainy weather, or a mismatch between the lineup and pricing… whatever the cause, the venue was empty. I saw many spectators bringing out plastic seats and chairs to watch, and even the minor young performers’ performances had single-digit audience numbers. Paul Stanley of KISS also left behind an unusual legend, saying, “40,000 people showed up. Hey, don’t look around!” In any case, Jeff also participated in such a legendary festival. I appeared as a semi-finalist on the Mobilita stage on the first day. The scene was filmed using professional shots and broadcast on a certain commercial broadcasting station. This work is the pinnacle version of such multi-camera professional shots. In fact, the quality is impregnable. At our store, we have archived many rock broadcasts with the best masters by domestic recording enthusiasts, and this work is one of them. The screen, which has no noise and no deterioration, is at a level that cannot be explained simply by being broadcast in the 21st century, and is truly overflowing with official-level visual beauty. Of course, the same goes for audio and photography. The camera work that properly understood the idea of the song was wonderful, especially since Jeff is popular in Japan, and the scene where the sun was still high was clear to every corner of the stage. It’s a little too big for a four-person group, and you can really feel the scale of the gigantic stage. I have introduced such top-class masters before, but this work is further upgraded. In the previously released version, the digital master provided by the recorder was used as is, but the aspect ratio of the screen was incorrect. It felt so strange that the screen was flattened horizontally and the bass drum became oval. Of course, this work has been corrected to a normal ratio suitable for permanent preservation. You can enjoy the highest image quality in history with a true-to-life view. [Official professional shot of the legendary festival] The show depicted with its visual beauty is also truly wonderful. The theme of this “UDO MUSIC FESTIVAL” was “Summer Festival for Adults,” and it was truly a strange thing to say. In fact, Jeff had just done a Japan tour one year ago in July 2005, and at that time, Jimmy Hall also accompanied the song. On the other hand, in this work, you can listen to plenty of guitar on a completely instrumental stage. The set is a short one for festivals, a style that started in 2005 with only the vocal numbers removed. Let’s sort it out here.・TRUTH (1 song): Beck’s Bolero ・BLOW BY BLOW (2 songs): Cause We’ve Ended as Lovers/Scatterbrain ・WIRED (2 songs): Goodbye Pork Pie Hat/Blue Wind ・THERE & BACK (2 songs): You Never Know/Star Cycle・FLASH (1 song): People Get Ready・GUITAR SHOP (2 songs): Behind the Veil/Big Block・WHO ELSE! (2 songs): Angel (footsteps)/Brush With the Blues・YOU HAD IT COMING (1 song): Nadia, EMOTION & COMMOTION (1 song): Somewhere Over the Rainbow, others: Stratus (Billy Cobham)…and so on. Speaking of 2006, the official live album “Live Beck ’06” was also released, but you can also see “People Get Ready” which cannot be heard there. Furthermore, the members are different from 2005. After his last visit to Japan, the bassist changed from Pino Palladino to Randy Hope Taylor. Randy is a great talent who is also known for his work with INCOGNITO, synonymous with acid jazz, and you can enjoy his reborn ensemble with official quality. Another highlight of this work is the mood at the scene. As mentioned earlier, this festival is known for its infamous legend, but the audience was… surprisingly normal. Jeff’s popularity may have been high, but there were still plenty of customers, so I guess the legend was just an urban legend. That’s what it seems like. However, this may be a magic unique to professional shots. If you look closely, you’ll notice that the angles of the audience seats are extremely narrow, and similar angles are repeated over and over again. It seems that they have deliberately avoided less popular places and focused their editing on the very front. Here and there, there are also distant shots of the audience seats, where the population density suddenly drops, and we get glimpses of the audience spreading out their seats… There was also a TV commercial that said, “The lens doesn’t lie.” However, it may be possible to make the lens lie. The festival left behind a strange legend, but Jeff’s performance there was the best. This work is a multi-camera professional shot that allows you to enjoy the whole story in the highest official quality. Since it is a legend, I cannot hope for an official release, but it is a wonderful video work that should have been left behind by the official team. ★Recorded in the best version with the correct screen aspect ratio.
