Description
Jeff Beck came to Japan with the female duo “BONES”. The fourth installment of the best is here. This work contains the performance “February 2, 2016: Grand Cube Osaka”. Up until this point, the live albums were from the Kanto region and north, but the best masterpiece has arrived from the Kansai performance. First of all, please check the schedule to organize this week’s release rush.・January 25: Pacifico Yokohama “YOKOHAMA 2017” ・January 26: Sendai Sun Plaza “SENDAI 2017” ・January 28: Iwate Prefectural Civic Hall ・January 30: Tokyo International Forum “TOKYO 2017 1ST NIGHT” ・January 31: Tokyo International Forum “LIVE IN TOKYO 2017” ・February 2: Grand Cube Osaka [This work] ・February 3: Fukuoka Sunpalace ・February 4: Hiroshima Ueno Gakuen Hall ・February 6: Nagoya City Public Hall “NAGOYA 2017 THE VIDEO” ・February 7: Amashin Archaic Hall *Note: Only representative works are included in each performance. In this way, the Osaka performance of this work is the 6th performance out of a total of 10 performances. The live albums up to now have been the first half, so to speak, but from here on, it is the second half. If you look at this alone, it’s just the halfway point, but if you expand your perspective to the world, you’ll see a different meaning. In fact, the overseas leg of the “LOUD HAILER TOUR” ended in October 2016. There was also the “CLASSIC ROCK AWARDS” at Ryogoku Kokugikan, but the tour resumed with the Korean performance (January 22nd) just before the Japan performance. In other words, this Japan tour is just after the resumption after a three and a half month break. It is also a process of regaining the ensemble that has already been refined during the world tour with each performance. You can see this from the set list. The set changed for each performance on this Japan tour, and you can see the flow there. Roughly speaking… ・January 25th Yokohama – 28th Morioka: daily change (3 performances) ・January 30th Tokyo – February 3rd Fukuoka: fixed (4 performances) ・February 4th Hiroshima – February 7th Amagasaki: daily change (3 performances) And so it is. It is difficult to gauge the genius Jeff’s true intentions, but he explored the first three performances, and the final version was the middle four performances. I think it was the final three performances where he got bored (?) and played around. And Osaka of this work is the third of the four fixed performances. It is a timing when he is moving forward with the conviction that “This is it!” and has not yet started to get bored. Although it is only a guess, such a mood can be felt in the performance of this work. This work, which contains such a fulfilling show, is of the finest quality. The recorder is the reliable brand “West Japan’s Strongest Taper”, and the trust that is even said to be “better than the sound on site” is unshakable this time. The direct feeling of the recording near the fifth row in the front is worthy of being called “like a sound board”, but on top of that, there is plenty of deliciousness unique to the audience. To be specific, there is a sense of scale of sound that the performance feels like it is in front of you, but spreads behind your head. The venue sound creates a “space” without blurring the core or details. And it has been sublimated to the beauty of the sound… It is a sound that is like a sample of an audience recording that is line-class but cannot be done on the line. This kind of sound cannot be achieved by simply relying on expensive equipment and chance. The venue, the musicians, and the audience. Judging all of that comprehensively, drawing a “vision” of the sound, and then freely adjusting the position and equipment settings. It is truly the work of a master who is only “the strongest”. The “2017 JEFF BECK GROUP” is currently very popular, with people saying “It was more amazing than I thought” and “Jeff was still evolving”. The charm of the album “LOUD HAILER” was not fully conveyed… This live album makes you realize that. This is a 2CD masterpiece in which a master craftsman captured the fresh show with all his might. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content. Live at Grand Cube, Osaka, Japan 2nd February 2017 TRULY PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (46:29) 1. Introduction 2.
