Description
“2005 JEFF BECK GROUP” is almost limited to Japan. “SAPPORO 2005”, which captures the Sapporo performance where you can hear the complete version of the album on the finest sound board, is the final album that has finally arrived. However, there was a “continuation” to the ensemble that was completed there. This is a live album that lets you listen to the “continuation” of that. After finishing the Japan performance in 2005, Jeff Beck wanted to tour North America with the same lineup, but it was not possible. That wish came true the following year in March 2006. Although the vocalist was replaced by female voice Beth Hart from Jimmy Hall, they departed for the “WEST COAST SPRING TOUR 2006” with almost the same members (Vinny Colaiuta, Jason Ribeiro, Pino Palladino). This work was recorded on the second day of the North American tour, “Las Vegas performance on April 2, 2006.” At that time, it was normally released from the TRIAL label, and the sound of this work is a wonderful audience recording. And what is depicted with that sound is the “2006 Spring JBG”, which has evolved even further from the “2005 JBG”. While the performance in Japan in 2005 got better with each passing day, this work was at full throttle after the second performance. The ensemble centered around Vinny’s drumming has already reached an impregnable level. Although we are considering a female vocal with a deep vibrato, it seems a bit too much for the extremely powerful performers, and I don’t think the balance is as good as the 2005 version. In fact, the performance on April 5th, three days after this work (the venue was the same House of Blues as this work), is also included in the official version “OFFICIAL BOOTLEG USA ’06”, and Beth sings the vocals there. The number has been removed. In contrast to such an official version, this work is a complete version of the show including vocal numbers. In addition to listening to “Morning Dew,” “People Get Ready,” and “Going Down,” which are not available in the official version, you can also enjoy plenty of “You Shook Me” and “I Ain’t Superstitious,” which were not performed in Japan. After that, the band toured North America until June, and changed members for the European tour in July. Bassist Pino Palladino was replaced by Randy Hope Taylor, and the direct evolution from the “2005 JBG” came to an end, and the “2006 Summer JBG” will be unveiled at the next Fuji Speedway in Japan. It will be. Although the vocals on a few songs have changed, the instrumentals you can hear on this album are a continuation of the wonderful 2005 Japan tour. The final ensemble of the “2006 Spring JBG” that has evolved over the years. Please enjoy it to the fullest along with the new masterpiece “SAPPORO 2015”. Live at the House Of Blues, Las Vegas, NV.
