Description

Two major incident albums in the history of Jeff Beck’s visit to Japan will be released at the same time. These two titles are both new excavated masters from the hugely popular 1980 performance in Japan. This first work is the original cassette of the legendary super famous recording. [The original cassette of the legendary recording was unexpectedly discovered] What is recorded in this work is the transcendental audience recording of the “December 16, 1980: Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium” performance. The Japan tour with the famous album “THERE AND BACK” was so monumental that we have archived many masterpieces at our store. This week there are two releases at the same time, so let’s first organize the show positions by schedule.・December 4th “TOKYO 1980 1ST NIGHT (Budokan)” ・December 5th “DEFINITIVE OSAKA 1980 1ST NIGHT (Prefectural Gymnasium)” ・December 8th: Kyuden Memorial Gymnasium ・December 9th: Kurashiki Memorial Hall ・December 10th “HERE, THERE AND BACK (Osaka Festival Hall)” December 11th: Nagoya City Public Hall December 12th: Miyagi Prefectural Civic Hall December 14th: Hokkaido Industrial Exhibition Hall December 16th : Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium ←★This work★・December 17th “TOKYO 1980 (Budokan)” ←*Simultaneously released・December 18th “CYCLONE (Budokan)” *Only representative works on each day. A total of 11 performances. This work’s Yokohama Park was the 9th concert they returned to Kanto after touring around the country. I’m sure many of you are already aware of this, but this day is known for the great recordings left behind, with “NOW & THEN” being famous in the old days, and the upgraded version “THE DEFINITIVE FINAL PEACE” being famous. It has become a huge standard. In fact, this work is the same traditional recording, but it is not a reissue or remaster of the previously released group. The original cassette of that traditional recording was finally discovered. [Sound that is both vivid and natural beyond imagination] I think many people have already made up their minds with this alone, but this impact is not limited to Beck collectors. In fact, this Omoto cassette was brought through the same route as THE POLICE’s “BUDOKAN 1981” and WHITESNAKE’s “TOKYO 1980 1ST NIGHT”, which shocked people with their high sound quality last week. It became a hot topic with comments such as “Sound like an official work!” and “Japanese Mike Millard!?” That’s no wonder. It was the work of the same recording artist as the legendary record “NOW & THEN”! That fact alone will send shivers down your spine, but this work is the original cassette of the legendary recording. It’s even more of an upgrade. It’s hard to believe that the legendary sound has improved, but you have to believe it when it actually flows out of the speakers and into your ears. Compared to the previous edition “THE DEFINITIVE FINAL PEACE”, there was no sense of distance between the powerful core, and the fine details were barefoot on the sound board. However, this work has even more vivid outlines and an increased sense of close contact. Intuitively speaking, up until the last time I felt like I was putting my ear to the speaker, but this time I felt like I was putting a plug in my ear. It is so vivid that it is hard to believe that it has passed through the atmosphere. In fact, this vividness cannot be created even with remastering, but the scary thing about the original cassette is that it is achieved completely unprocessed. This work is a completely flat transfer and has not been processed in any way. This is of great significance. However, the vividness achieved only by the freshness of the music is such that even the ultra-fine vibes are natural and free from distortion and deterioration. If you have experienced “THE DEFINITIVE FINAL PEACE,” please compare it with “The Pump” of this work. The cymbal sounds once in the intro, but in this work the peak is sharp, and the reverberation is smooth and unwavering. It’s so realistic that you can see the shining cymbals vibrating right in front of your eyes. Moreover, the performance itself was amazing on this day. The first day in Japan was in Tokyo, and there were a lot of mistakes from Jeff and Tony Hymas, and the show was led by Simon Phillips. However, as they traveled around the region, the ensemble became more sophisticated, and peaked from Nagoya (6th performance) to Yokohama (9th performance). What’s more, Yokohama probably felt better about his improved performance, and the performance was not only perfect but also wild and exciting. I was surprised by the quality of THE POLICE, WHITESNAKE, and Hall & Oates records, but I never expected it to be the work of the taper who achieved “NOW & THEN”. This work not only clarifies that fact, but also upgrades the essential masterpiece with the original cassette sound. Truly the biggest shock work of 2021. Please enjoy this miraculous new excavation to the fullest along with the simultaneously released “TOKYO 1980”. Superb audience recording of the “December 16, 1980: Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium” performance. A miraculous discovery of the original cassettes of the traditional masterpieces “NOW & THEN” and “THE DEFINITIVE FINAL PEACE.” This is the ultimate masterpiece that has been directly digitized. In fact, it transcends the conventional version of the barefoot sound board, with an even more vivid outline and overwhelming sense of closeness, and a dazzling freshness with no distortion down to the smallest details. For example, the cymbal in the intro to “The Pump.” In this work, the peak is sharp, and the reverberation is smooth and unwavering. It feels so real that you can see the shining cymbals vibrating right in front of your eyes. You can enjoy the masterpiece that has been called the best on the 1980 Japan tour with the highest peak updated sound.
