Jeff Beck/Glasgow,Scotland 2004

A complete recording of the Glasgow show on June 19th, the second day of the 2004 UK tour, as a high quality audience recording from a DAT master. Five days later, they held a special birthday live to celebrate Jeff’s 60th birthday at the Albert Hall in London, and in what could be called a prelude to that, the band members gave a performance full of spirit. First of all, since it’s been a long time since I’ve led a tour with Jan Hammer, we started with Mahavishnu Orchestra’s “Resolution” as the first song! The set was quite interesting, with a complete change in members from the previous year and many Hammer songs included. Anyway, the sound quality is so good that it sounds like it’s a sound board, and the balance between Jeff’s guitar, bass & drums is exquisite, so he perfectly reproduces the jazz-like play including Hammer. Furthermore, Nancy Soleil, who also appeared in the London performance, appeared in the second half of the day and sang the emotional “Cry Me A River”, and the last “People Get Ready” had plenty of Jeff’s slow and fast tone. A new must-have item from the 2004 tour, which is popular for its unexpected set list and composition!
