Description

“FLASH” is an ambitious work with Nile Rodgers as producer, who takes on the challenge of writing a song for the first time in a while. The super best outtake master is newly discovered. [Multi-track master completely different from previous releases] This work contains 25 takes and approximately 100 minutes of ultra-superior stereo soundboard recording. A collection of studio outtakes taken during work at “POWER STATION STUDIOS” in New York in 1984. If you are an avid collector, you may remember the nostalgic “FLASH WORKS”, but this work is another new excavation master. There are some very similar takes on some songs, but the sources are completely different and the sound has been significantly upgraded. The source is the original multitrack used in the studio. It is the 2nd generation master that was dubbed only twice, from the 1/4 inch reel rough MIX tape produced from there to the cassette tape. Please don’t underestimate me and think, “What’s this 2nd generation?” After all, even if it is a genuine official work, it goes through the stages of “Multi → Mix → Mastering → Stamper production” (this is just an example). In other words, in terms of generation, it is almost the same as the official work. In fact, the sound speaks volumes about the history of this work. The main points of this kind of demo/outtake can be summarized into three points: “sound,” “production stage,” and “recorded songs,” but the sound of this work is super beautiful. It is what is called a “completely official grade”, but in fact it is even more than that. There are variations in the finished version depending on the take, but the takes that are close to the finished version are more vivid (!) than the final version. Even if it is a take very similar to “FLASH WORKS”, there is no dubbing trace or tape twist at all, and it is a dimension that can be officially released as is. A treasure collection of completeness that can be mixed with regular albums] Even if the sound is of official quality, the contents are very different from the final version. The second point here is the production stage. Demo collections range from memo recordings at the composition stage to mix differences to find differences from the final version, but this work is just a “take difference / rough mix”. Even the songs in the early stages are tentative takes, but the songs are solidly finished, and the ones that are close to completion have been processed with effects, etc. (although if you listen to them properly, you can see that they are different from the official take), and they can be played randomly with the final official version. There are also many takes that don’t feel out of place. It is “OUTTAKES” as the title suggests, and it is not the “original” version of the official version but a “different version”. The third and final “recorded songs”. The completed album contains a total of 9 songs, but this work has a total of 10 songs and 25 takes. There are different takes of the same song, and I’m also curious about unreleased songs. Let’s organize the contents here. Songs included in “FLASH” (6 songs, 20 takes) – Ambitious (2 takes) / Escape (4 takes) / People Get Ready (2 takes) / Stop, Look And Listen (4 takes) / Get Workin’ (3 takes) /Night After Night (5 takes) Unreleased tracks (4 songs, 5 takes) ・Same song as the existing sound source: Jeff’s Anthem/No Filet Mignon, Just Greens/Funk On The Nail ・Others: Unreleased Track (2 takes)… …and it looks like this. Since there are 25 takes, I will avoid explaining the differences one by one, but every take is worth listening to. Even for the major song “People Get Ready”, it was one take in “FLASH WORKS”, but in this work it was two takes. Moreover, both can be enjoyed with Rod Stewart’s vocals. Also, once again, the unreleased songs “Jeff’s Anthem,” “No Filet Mignon, Just Greens,” and “Funk On The Nail,” which were also heard on “FLASH WORKS,” have a different sound. That’s what makes me want to add it to the finished album and make it an expanded edition. This is a collection of studio treasures consisting of 10 songs, 25 takes, and approximately 100 minutes. Although the sound quality is close to that of the official album, the mix and performance are different, and there are plenty of unreleased songs. It is truly “another FLASH”, and it would be appropriate to officially release it as a 3-disc deluxe edition set with the final version. It’s such a semi-official decision board. Official level super high quality stereo sound board. The content and sound quality are incomparable to previous works. This is amazing. (Remastered memo) Only pitch and sound pressure adjustments were made. The sound is so amazing that you can’t even touch it. Power Station Studios, N.Y.C. 1984 STEREO SBD(NEW SOURCE)*UPGRADE!!!!!
