Description

A masterpiece live album that appeared late is now available. The 2018 JEFF BECK GROUP welcomes female cellist Vanessa Freeburn Smith and has become a hot topic as an ensemble that has never been heard before while staying true to its roots. Currently, he is taking a break after completing all scheduled dates, and the sound source review by mania has almost finished. This work is a masterpiece recording that suddenly appeared under such circumstances. This is the best audience recording of “August 1, 2018: Toronto Performance”. In 2018, there were two tours: a European tour from June to early July, and a North American tour from late July to the end of August. This work is scheduled for a North American tour soon. We have done real-time reports on many masterpieces in our store, so let’s organize the collection by date. 《July 18th-21st: 3 performances》・July 22nd “SAN DIEGO 2018”・July 24th: Sugar Land performance・July 25th: Irving performance・July 26th “DEFINITIVE AUSTIN 2018” July 28th-31st: 3 performances》・August 1st: Toronto performance ←★This work★・August 3rd: Boston performance・August 4th “CAMDEN 2018”《August 5th-19th: 10 performances》・August 20th “WOLF TRAP 2018”《August 22nd-26th: 4 performances》 This is an overview of the North American tour held this year. It was held as a luxurious coupling tour “STARS ALIGN TOUR” with Paul Rodgers & Ann Wilson (there were days when Paul did not participate in several performances). This Toronto performance is the 11th performance of this work. In the middle of the tour, the closest album is the masterpiece CD “CAMDEN 2018”, which is the highest peak of 2018. This is a live album before those two performances. This work is so wonderful that it was released even if it was delayed. What captivates me most of all is the wonderfully active core. Although the detailed recording position is not known, it is probably quite a front seat. The extremely thick core flies straight into your hand, almost unaffected by the on-site space. Because it is so strong, there are scenes where the opening songs “Pull It” and “Nadia” are distorted or try to make slight adjustments, but after that it was quickly settled and it was very beautiful. The subtle venue acoustics add a gloss to the performance sound, without making it dull or muddy, and the delicate details are beautiful, worthy of being called a “soundboard.” This is our fifth North American tour, but it is still a wonderful recording that cannot be ignored. In addition to the exquisite direct feeling, the cheers also give you the feeling of being seated in the front. Although it will not be a stupid fuss just because of Jeff’s show, there is still much more audience noise in North America than in Japan. However, in this work, even that is exquisite, and the applause and cheers that erupt between songs have a three-dimensional feel that makes you feel like you’re carrying it from behind your head. While it depicts a realistic sense of presence unique to the scene, it does not come between the sound of the performance approaching from the front. The show drawn with such a sound will be filled with the latest ensembles as we have previously reported. On this day, there will be three groups including Paul Rodgers, so it will be a short set, and there will be plenty of concentrated and passionate performances that will come close to the super masterpiece “CAMDEN 2018”. However, it is not exactly the same, and instead of “Brush With the Blues” being played, “Little Wing” is included in the set. I would change the blues songs depending on my mood. Even more than that is Miss Vanessa. “I Have to Laugh” contrasts vividly with Jimmy Hall’s manly singing voice, “Mna na h-Eireann” is full of gentle emotion, “Stratus” supports Jeff’s lively phrases with a profound feeling, KING CRIMSON “Big Block”, which shows off the dark side of Buri, etc. You can enjoy plenty of exquisite ensembles that have not yet become official works. The 2018 JEFF BECK GROUP has not announced any official works or performances in Japan. This is a live album where you can enjoy Jeff’s world, which has been beautifully and profoundly revived, with one more performance and the best sound. It takes several minutes for the sound image to solidify at the beginning, so it’s not as good as the masterpiece “CAMDEN 2018”, but even that is just a small change, and after that, the super beautiful sound that can’t be complained about continues. Go through the full show. We highly recommend “CAMDEN 2018” and “DEFINITIVE AUSTIN 2018 (Wardour-290)” for your first experience with the latest ensembles. That is still true. However, when you want to listen to it more or want to listen to it one more time, this work comes into play. A belated masterpiece that perfectly meets those expectations.
