Description

Jean-Luc Ponty, who participated in Frank Zappa and the Mahavishnu Orchestra, led a group of talented musicians on the 1985 American tour, which was highly acclaimed, and the strongest live 4-disc set has been released, recorded with super A-class audience sound sources that will amaze anyone who has heard the live performances in Boston and New York! Now, the live performance released this time is from the American tour accompanying the release of Ponty’s masterpiece “Fabre”, and the person who recorded the two live recordings is none other than Tapetyrant himself, known as the Miller of the West and the Tape Tyrant of the East. A taper (recorder) who was active in the New York area from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s, he brought the finest recording equipment and carried out wonderful audience recordings, mainly of jazz/fusion genres. Many of his recordings and excellent recordings have been released by Megadisc, and the sound quality of each one is guaranteed. The album “Fables” was mainly a work with programmed sounds, but the sound changes completely in the live performance, and you will surely be swooned by the fantastic and spectacular performance with a symphonic style that sparkles. Now, the members are Scott Henderson on guitar, Walter Afanasieff, who is famous as a producer and songwriter for Mariah Carey’s work, John Humphrey, who also participated in Scott Henderson’s album, on bass, and Sonny Emory, a former member of the band Earth, Wind & Fire who has backed Eric Clapton, etc., on drums. This is a recording of a magnificent live performance made up of talented members, including the best taper on the East Coast, Tape Tyrant’s treasured recording!
